«Առավոտ» թերթը գրում է. «ՀԺԿ առաջնորդից հստակ դիրքորոշում Արցախյան խնդրի կարգավորման մասին չեմ լսել»,- այսպես է արձագանքել ՀՅԴ գերագույն մարմնի ներկայացուցիչ Աղվան Վարդանյանը «Առավոտ»-ի այն դիտարկմանը, որ «Կոնգրես-ՀԺԿ» դաշինքը հանդես է գալիս «Խաղաղություն-հաշտություն-բարիդրացիություն» կարգախոսով, որը նաեւ, ինչպես ՀՀ առաջին նախագահն էր իր հոդվածում նշել, ենթադրում է Արցախյան հարցում փոխզիջում՝ խաղաղության եւ միջանկյալ կարգավիճակի դիմաց, մինչդեռ այլ քաղաքական ուժեր դեմ են նման դիրքորոշմանը:
«Այնպիսի զգացողություն ունեմ, որ հանրապետության առաջին նախագահը՝ Լեւոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանը սիրում է նաեւ իր շրջապատի վրա հումորներ անել, եւ իր թիմակիցներին դրել է մի վիճակի մեջ, որոնք փորձում են իրենց պատռելով մեր հասարակությանն ապացուցել անապացուցելին: Սա Լեւոն տեր-Պետրոսյանին յուրահատուկ է՝ նաեւ իր շրջապատի վրա մի քիչ հումորներ անել»,- «Առավոտ»-ի հետ զրույցում ասաց Վարդանյանը:
Աղվան Վարդանյանի ներկայացմամբ՝ «Լեւոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանը մի բան է ասել ու բոլորին դրել է դրա տակ, ու բոլորը փորձում են իր ասածները կրկնել, կամ իր ասածներն արդարացնել, ինքն էլ նստում, հեռվից նայում, քմծիծաղում է»:
Իսկ թե ինչ դիրքորոշում ունի ՀՅԴ-ն արցախյան խնդրի կարգավորման հարցի մասին, պարոն Վարդանյանն ասաց. «Նայեք բոլոր մյուս քաղաքական ուժերին, չէ որ բոլորը նույն բաներն են ասում, ինչը միշտ ասել է Դաշնակցությունը: Արցախյան ազատամարտը կազմակերպելը գոնե առնվազն Դաշնակցություն է սկսել: Մենք միշտ ասել ենք՝ սա մեր արժանապատվության, մեր ապագայի խնդիրն է, սա առանձին հարց չէ, ամբողջ հայ ժողովրդի հարցն է»:
