 Թուրքիայի կողմից Նիդերլանդներին ֆաշիզմի մեջ մեղադրելու փորձերը «բացարձակապես կտրված են իրականությունից»: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը` վկայակոչելով Reuters-ը, այս մասին հայտարարել է Եվրոպական խորհրդի նախագահ Դոնալդ Տուսկը:

«Ռոտերդամը` Էրազմի (Էրազմ Ռոտերդամցի՝ նիդեռլանդական հումանիստական գրականության ամենաականավոր դեմքը-խմբ.) քաղաքը, որն ամբողջությամբ ոչնչացվել էր նացիստների կողմից, այժմ ունի մարոկկացի քաղաքապետ: Եթե որևէ մեկը Ռոտերդամում ֆաշիզմ է տեսնում, նրանք ամբողջությամբ կտրված են իրականությունից»,- ասել է Տուսկը Եվրոպական խորհրդի լիագումար նիստում:

Տուսկին իր աջակցությունն է հայտնել Եվրահանձնաժողովի նախագահ Ժան Կլոդ Յունկերը, ով նշել է, որ թուրքական կողմը նման հայտարարություններով հեռու է գնում Եվրամիությանն անդամակցությունից:

Գերմանիայի, Նիդերլանդների և Թուրքիայի միջև հարաբերությունները խիստ լարվել են այն բանից հետո, ինչ այդ երկրներն արգելել են թուրք քաղաքական գործիչներին և մասնավորապես արտգործնախարար Չավուշօղլուին սահմանադրական հանրաքվեի քարոզարշավի շրջանակում ելույթ ունենալ իր տարածքում:

Նիդերլանդները թուրք նախարարների ինքնաթիռներին չեն թույլատրել վայրէջք կատարել իր տարածքում: Ավելին, Նիդերլանդները Թուրքիայի ընտանիքի և սոցիալական հարցերի նախարարին «անցանկալի անձ»  հայտարարեց ու արտաքսեց երկրից:

Պաշտոնական Անկարան բողոքի երկու նոտա է հղել հոլանդական կողմին: Թուրքիայի փոխվարչապետը հայտարարել է Նիդերլանդների հետ բարձր մակարդակի հարաբերություններն առկախելու որոշման մասին` պահանջելով պաշտոնապես ներողություն խնդրել կատարվածի համար: Թուրքիայի նախագահ Էրդողանը և մյուս պաշտոնատար անձինք մեղադրել են Գերմանիային ու Նիդերլանդներին ֆաշիստական գործելաոճի մեջ:
