Հոնկոնգի նոր ղեկավար է ընտրվել Քերի Լամը, ով առաջին կինը կլինի այդ պաշտոնում հատուկ ինքնավար շրջանի պատմության ընթացքում. այս մասին հայտնում է BBC-ի ռուսական ծառայությունը:


Լամի թեկնածությունը վայելում էր Պեկինի աջակցությունը, և նրա հաղթանակի հարցում քչերն էին կասկածում: Վարչության ղեկավարն ընտրվում է ոչ թե համընդհանուր ընտրություններում, այլ 1200 անդամ ունեցող հանձնաժողովի կողմից, որտեղ մեծամասնությունը պատկանում է ընտրիչներին, որոնք աջակցում են Չինաստանի կառավարության շահերը:
