Ըստ գիտնականների, այս մկները քաղցկեղի առաջացմանը ավելի քիչ են հակված եղել, ավելի լավ հիշողություն են ունեցել տարեց հասակում, առանց մարզանքների ավելի շատ կալորիա են այրել, եւ նրանց նյութափոխանակությունը եւ շաքարի յուրացման ունակությունը մնացել է այնպես, ինչպես երիտասարդ տարիքում։
