«Ժողովուրդ» թերթը գրում է. «ՌԴ-ում ՀՀ նորանշանակ դեսպան Վարդան Տողանյանը բավական մեծ ունեցվածքի տեր է: Ըստ նրա պաշտոնական հայտարարագրի՝ դեսպանն ունի երեք բնակարան, բազմաբնակարան շենքի ոչ բնակելի մեկ տարածք, մեկ ավտոտնակ:
Նա ունի մեկ BMW 730 մակնիշի ավտոմեքենա: Դեսպանը հայտարարագրել է, որ ունի 21 մլն 250 հազար դրամի բաժնետոմս, 80 հազար եվրոյի, 1000 դրամի եւ 256 հազար 325 դրամի բաժնեմաս: Պաշտոնը ստանձնելու օրվա դրությամբ դեսպանի ունեցած փոխառությունը կազմել է 1 մլն 200 հազար դոլար:
Նա 8 մլն դրամը գերազանցող իրեր է հայտարարագրել: Ըստ այդմ, նա ունի ձեռքի ժամացույցների, նկարների եւ թանկարժեք քարերի հավաքածուներ:
Տողանյանի դրամական միջոցները կազմել են 5 մլն դրամ, 48 մլն ռուսական ռուբլի, 4,9 մլն դոլար եւ 1500 ֆունտ ստեռլինգ:
Հիշեցնենք, որ Տողանյանի անունը կապված է պանամյան օֆշորային սկանդալի հետ. ԴԱՀԿ նախկին պետ Միհրան Պողոսյանը եւս իր անվամբ օֆշորային գոտում ունի ընկերություններ»:
