«Հանրապետականներ» կուսակցությունից Ֆրանսիայի նախագահի թեկնածու Ֆրուսուա Ֆիյոնը հայտարարել Է, որ մտադիր Է զրպարտանքի մեղադրանքներով դատարան հայցեր ներկայացնել այն անձանց նկատմամբ, ովքեր մասնակցել են իրեն վարկաբեկելու արշավի կազմակերպմանը՝ խորհրդարանում իր կնոջը, ինչպես պնդվում Է, կեղծարարությամբ աշխատանքի տեղավորման մեղադրանքների կապակցությամբ: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, քաղաքական գործիչն ասել Է France Inter ռադիոկայանի եթերում: 
«Ճշմարտությունը բոլորին պարզ կդառնա, երբ արդարադատությունը կկայացնի իր եզրակացությունը, եւ ես իմ կողմից ոչ մի կասկած չունեմ այդ որոշման հարցում: Դա զրպարտություն Է, եւ ես հենց սկզբից ասում Էի, որ կեղծ աշխատատեղերի ստեղծման մեղադրանքը անհիմն Է, այլապես Ազգային ֆինանսական դատախազությունն արդեն վաղուց գործը կհանձներ դատարան»,-նշել Է նա: 
Ինչպես ընդգծել Է Ֆիյոնը, այժմ ինքը մտադիր Է կենտրոնանալ նախընտրական արշավի վրա, սակայն հետագայում ցանկանում Է ստիպել բոլոր նրանց, ովքեր մասնակցել են իր դեմ ծավալված «զրպարտաչական արշավին», կանգնել դատարանի առջեւ: 
Ֆիյոնը նաեւ հաստատել Է, որ Ֆրանսիայի նախագահ Ֆրանսուա Օլանդին մեղսակից Է համարում այդ սկանդալին: «Այո՛, անտարակույս»,-երկու անգամ պատասխանել Է նա այն բանի հնարավորության վերաբերյալ ռադիոհաղորդավարի ուղղակի հարցին, թե պետության ղեկավարն առնչություն ունեցել Է արդյոք քաղաքական գործչին հասցեին արված մեղադրանքներին: 
Հունվարի վերջին Ֆիյոնը ֆրանսիական ԶԼՄ-ների նշանառության տակ Է հայտնվել Canard enchaՏnռ. թերթում մի շարք հրապարակումներից հետո: Հրատարակությունը պնդում Է, որ քաղաքական գործչի կինը՝ Պենելոպա Ֆիյոնը, երկար ժամանակ գրանցված Էր որպես Ազգային ժողովում նրա օգնական եւ դրա համար աշխատավարձ Էր ստանում, սակայն «իրական որեւԷ աշխատանք չԷր կատարում»: Մարտի 14-ին Ֆիյոնին պաշտոնապես պետական միջոցների հափշտակման մեղադրանքներ են առաջադրվել իր տիկնոջ աշխատանքի տեղավորման գործով: 
Ֆիյոնն ինքը պնդում Է, որ հափշտակումների վերաբերյալ իրեն առաջադրված մեղադրանքներն անհիմն են եւ ասում Է, որ կշարունակի մասնակցել նախընտրական մրցարշավին՝ ղեկավարվելով միայն իր թեկնածության վերաբերյալ ընտրողների կարծիքով, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
