Սխալ 1՝ Ժամկետն անց պահպանակի օգտագործումը. այն կարող է պատռվել ամենաանպատեհ պահի:
Սխալ 2՝ Կենդանիների մաշկից պատրաստված պահպանակիօգտագործումը.նման պահպանակները պաշտպանում են անցանկալի հղիությունից, սակայն ոչ սեռավարակներից: Եթե լատեքսից ալերգիա ունեք, կարող եք պոլիուրետանից պատրաստված պահպանակներ օգտագործել:
Սխալ 3՝ Պահպանակը տաքացնելը. չարժե պահպանակը տաբատի հետևի գրպանում պահել, տաք առարկաներին մոտ դնել կամ թողնել արևի տակ:Պահպանակն այս ամենից կորցնում է իր ամրությունը:
Սխալ 4՝ Պահպանակի փաթեթն ատամներով կամ մկրատով բացելը. այսպես այն կարող է վնասվել:
Սխալ 5՝ Յուղ կամ ճարպ պարունակող լուբրիկանտների օգտագործումը (վազելին, մանկական նրբաքսուկ). սա պահպանակի վրա անցքեր ու պատռվածքներ է առաջացնում:
Սխալ 6՝ Պահպանակն օգտագործելուց առաջ հետ ոլորելը. այս դեպքում պահպանակը պարզապես կարելի է դեն նետել, քանի որ անհնար կլինի այն հագնել:
