ԱՄՆ-ում Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին պատմող նոր գիրք է լույս տեսել

Ջորջ Շիրինյանի խմբագրությամբ լույս է տեսել նոր գիրք «Ցեղասպանությունն Օսմանյան կայսրությունում. Հայերը, ասորիներն ու հույները. 1913-1923» խորագրով: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին հայտնում է ասորական միջազգային լրատվական գործակալությունը:
Գիրքը լույս է տեսել 2013 թվականի մայիսի 10-11-ն ԱՄՆ Իլինոյս նահանգում տեղի ունեցած կոնֆերանսի նյութերի հիման վրա: Գիրքը հրատարակել է Berghahn Books հրատարակչական ընկերությունը:
Գրքի առաջաբանի հեղինակ Շիրինյանը նշում է. «Երբ տեսնում ես, թե ինչ է տեղի ունենում Թուրքիայում այս պահին, ինչպես է Թուրքիան վերաբերվում իր փոքրամասնություններին, ինչ լեզու է օգտագործում Թուրքիայի նախագահը ոչ մուսուլման Եվրոպայի մասին խոսելիս, այդ ամենը կրկնում է այն նույն նեղ, էթնո-կրոնական ազգայնականությունը, որը կար 100 տարի առաջ: Թուրքիայի նախագահը դա այսօր կիրառում է զանգվածներին մոբիլիզացնելու համար` իրականացնելու իր քաղաքական նպատակները: Այսօր Թուրքիայի ոչ մուսուլման բնակչությունը միասին վերցրած, այդ թվում հայերը, ասորիները, հույներն ու հրեաները, կազմում են ընդամենը 100 հազար մարդ, մինչդեռ Օսմանյան կայսրությունում նախքան ցեղասպանությունը նրանց թիվը 4.5 միլիոն էր»:
