Ամերիկացի դիետոլոգները ավել քաշ ունեցող 420 կամավորների մասնակցությամբ փորձ է անցկացրել, որպեսզի պարզեն, ազդում է արդյոք սնվելու ժամը նիհարելու վրա:
Մասնակիցներին բաժանել են երկու խմբի, որոնք ճաշում էին տարբեր ժամերի: Մասնագետների կարծիքով՝ հենց ճաշի ժամն է էապես ազդում կալորիաների ծախսի վրա: Այն դեպքում, երբ նախաճաշի ու ընթրիքի ժամը ոչ մի կերպ չեն ազդում նիհարելու վրա:Առաջին խմբի մասնակիցները ճաշում էին մինչեւ 15:00, իսկ մյուսը՝ հետո: Բժշկական քրոնոբիոլոգիայի ծրագրի ղեկավար Ֆրանկ Շիհիրը պատմել է, որ մյուս պայմանները երկու խմբի համար միեւնույնն են եղել՝ միեւնույն քանակությամբ սննդամթերք, քնի ժամ, ֆիզիկական ծանրաբեռնվածություն եւ այլն:
Հետազոտությունից հետո մասնագետները եզրակացրել են, որ եթե ճաշում են մինչեւ 15:00, ապա նիհարելու գործընթացն ավելի արդյունավետ է: Առաջին խմբի մասնակիցներն ավելի արագ ու մեծ ծավալով քաշ էին կորցնում: Մասնագետները խորհուրդ են տալիս ուշադրություն դարձնել արդյունքների վրա նրանց, ովքեր փորձում են տան պայմաններում նիհարել: Եթե ճաշեն մինչեւ ցերեկը ժամը երեքը, ասում են բժիշկները, ապա ճարպակալման ու շաքարային դիաբետի առաջացման վտանգ չի սպառնա:
