ՌԴ-ի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի արտաքին քաղաքական գերատեսչությունների ղեկավարներ Սերգեյ Լավրովը եւ Ռեքս Թիլսերսոնը բանակցություններ են վարում Մոսկվայում, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով ՏԱՍՍ-ին:
Հանդիպումն ընթանում Է փակ ռեժիմով: Դրա արդյունքները Լավրովը եւ Թիլսերսոնը կամփոփեն մամուլի ասուլիսում: 
Հանդիպման տեւողությունը որոշված չԷ, բայց Մոսկվայում Ռուսաստանի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի արտաքին քաղաքական գերատեսչությունների ղեկավարների բանակցությունները սովորաբար տեւում են մի քանի ժամ եւ հաճախ ավարտվում արդեն գիշերը:
Լավրովն իր ներածական խոսքում հայտարարել Է, թե Մոսկվան կարեւոր Է համարում, որ Սիրիային ԱՄՆ-ի հրթիռահարվածը չկրկնվի: «Ռուսաստանի ղեկավարությունն արդեն սկզբունքային գնահատականներ Է հայտնել այդ կապակցությամբ: Սկզբունքորեն կարեւոր ենք համարում ապագայում նմանօրինակ ակցիաների կրկնվելու ռիսկեր թույլ չտալը»,-ընդգծել Է Լավրովը: Մոսկվան հույս ունի պարզել ԱՄՆ-ի հետ երկխոսության հեռնկարները, այդ թվում՝ ահաբեկչության դեմ մղվող պայքարում, հայտարարել Է Լավրովը:
Իր հերթին ԱՄՆ-ի պետքարտուղար Թիլսերսոնը Լավրովի հետ անկեղծ երկխոսության հույս Է հայտնել: 
«Հուսով եմ, որ այս հանդիպումը կնպաստի բաց ու անկեղծ երկխոսությանը, որպեսզի մենք կարողանանք ամեն ինչ անել մեր երկրների փոխհարաբերությունները դրական ուղղությամբ տանելու համար»,-ասել Է նա:
