«Մարդ չի կորցնում իր երիտասարդությունը, եթե դեռ ի վիճակի է զարմանալ: Զարմանքն ամեն ինչի հիմքն է». այս խոսքերը պատկանում են հայ մեծանուն դերասան, հայկական և ռուսական կինոյի և թատրոնի վաստակաշատ արտիստ, ռեժիսոր Արմեն Ջիգարխանյանին, ով այսօր` հոկտեմբերի 3-ին տոնում է ծննդյան 80 ամյակը: Ջիգարխանյանը ծնվել է 1935 թվականի հոկտեմբերի 3-ին Երևանում: 1958 թ-ին ավարտել է Երևանի գեղարվեստաթատերական ինստիտուտը: Նույն թվականից Երևանի Կոնստանտին Ստանիսլավսկու անվան ռուսական թատրոնի դերասան էր:

Ջիգարխանյանը 1996 թ-ից հանդես է գալիս տարբեր թատրոնների ներկայացումներում: Նույն թվականին նա Մոսկվայում հիմնել է իր՝ «Ջիգարխանյանի թատրոնը», բեմադրել հարյուրավոր ներկայացումներ:

1959 թ-ից սկսել է նկարահանվել նաև ֆիլմերում, որոնք բազմաժանր են` կատակերգական, արկածային, ողբերգական և երաժշտական: Իր մասնագիտական գործունեության ողջ ընթացքում Ջիգարխանյանը նկարահանվել է շուրջ 300 ֆիլմում, ինչի համար անունը գրանցվել է «Գինեսի ռեկորդների գրքում»: Հայ անվանի դերասանը հնչյունավորել է նաև «Սոյուզմուլտֆիլմ»-ի շատ հերոսների:

Արմեն Ջիգարխանյանն արժանացել է ՀԹԳՄ «Վահագն» (2002 թ.), ՌԴ թատերական գործիչների միության «Բյուրեղապակե Տուրանդոտ» (2010 թ.) մրցանակների, ՀՀ Սուրբ Մեսրոպ Մաշտոցի (1996 թ.), ՌԴ Հայրենիքին մատուցած ծառայությունների համար III (1995 թ.) և IV (2005 թ.) աստիճանների, Սուրբ Ալեքսանդր Նևսկու (2006 թ.) շքանշանների:
