ԱՄՆ-ի պետքարտուղար Ռեքս Թիլերսոնը «գերազանց աշխատանք» կատարեց Մոսկվայում, որտեղ առաջ մղեց «անվտանգության ոլորտում ԱՄՆ-ի եւ նրա դաշնակիցների շահերը» Ռուսաստանի իշխանությունների ներկայացուցիչների հետ կայացած հանդիպումներում: Այս մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հայտարարել Է ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը՝ ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Ենս Ստոլտենբերգի հետ Սպիտակ տանը հրավիրված համատեղ մամուլի ասուլիսում:   
Միացյալ Նահանգների ղեկավարի խոսքով՝ ԱՄՆ-ի պետքարտուղարը «շատ հաջող» հանդիպումներ Է ունեցել Ռուսաստանի մայրաքաղաքում: 
Նախագահը նաեւ նշել Է, որ Մոսկվայում պետքարտուղարի բանակցությունները, հնարավոր Է, անցան ավելի լավ, քան սպասվում Էր: «Վերջնական արդյունքը մենք կտեսնենք մեծ ժամանակամիջոցից հետո: Զրույցներն ամենագլխավորը չեն: Ես կարծում եմ, որ, հենվելով այն բանի վրա, ինչ ես լսել եմ, ամեն ինչ անցել Է լավ, գուցե ավելի լավ, քան սպասվում Էր»,- նշել Է պետության ղեկավարը:
Թրամփը հույս Է հայտնել, որ Միացյալ Նահանգները եւ ՆԱՏՕ-ն «կկարողանան համաձայնության գալ» Ռուսաստանի հետ: «Հիանալի կլիներ, եթե ՆԱՏՕ-ն եւ մեր երկիրը կարողանային համաձայնության գալ Ռուսաստանի հետ»,- ասել Է Թրամփը: Նա այն կարծիքն Է հայտնել, որ այս պահին երկու երկրների միջեւ հարաբերությունները, հնարավոր Է, գտնվում են «ամենացածր մակարդակում»:   
«Բայց տեսնենք՝ ինչ կլինի: Պուտինը Ռուսաստանի ղեկավարն Է, Ռուսաստանն ուժեղ երկիր Է: Մենք շատ, շատ ուժեղ երկիր ենք: Տեսնենք, թե դրանից ինչ կստացվի»,- հավելել Է Միացյալ Նահանգների ղեկավարը, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
