Հայոց ցեղասպանության անպատժելիությունը պատճառ դարձավ դրանից հետո գրանցված ցեղասպանությունների: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին Yahoo Movies-ի հետ առցանց հարցազրույցի ժամանակ հայտարարել է Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին հոլիվուդյանը «Խոստումը» ֆիլմի գլխավոր դերակատար, օսկարակիր դերասան Քրիստիան Բեյլը:
«Նախքան այս ֆիլմը, ես չգիտեի Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին: Դա պատմության անհավատալի կարևոր պահերից է: Դրանում հետևողականության բացակայության պատճառով մենք Հայոց ցեղասպանությունից հետո այդքան նոր ցեղասպանություններ ունեցանք, ինչպես Հոլոքոստը, Կամբոջայի ցեղասպանությունը:
Երբ ես կարդում էի ֆիլմի սցենարը, Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցն էր, մարդիկ սկսել էին ավելի շատ բան իմանալ դրա մասին: Ես դիտում էի լուրերը և տեսնում, թե ինչպես է «Իսլամական պետությունը» կոտորում սարի վրա հայտնված մարդկանց. այս ֆիլմը պարունակում է պատմական ճշմարիտ հատված, թե ինչպես էին հայերը հայտնվել մի սարի` Մուսա լեռան վրա և կոտորվում էին: Ես չէի կարողանում դադարել տեսնել նմանությունն այդ ամենի միջև: Դա խելահեղ բարբարոսական գործողություն էր, չափազանց դաժան և հիշաչար, այն, թե ինչպես այդքան մարդ սպանվեց»,- նշել է Բեյը:
Նա պատմել է, որ ֆիլմում մարմնավորել է ամերիկյան Associated Press-ի լրագրողի: «Դուք գիտեք, թե որքան կարևոր է ունենալ լավ մամուլ: Այլապես մարդիկ չեն կարող տեղեկանալ դեպքերի մասին»,- ընդգծել է դերասանը:
Համեմատականներ տանելով մեր օրերի հետ` Բեյլը նշում է Սիրիայում տիրող իրավիճակի հետևանքով սկսված փախստականների ճգնաժամի մասին: «Հալեպի շուրջ անապատը լիքն է ոսկորներով: Եղել են բռնի տեղահանություններ, որոնք իրականում մահվան երթեր էին, դրանք հարյուր հազարավոր մահերի պատճառ դարձան: Շատերը հաստատվեցին Հալեպում: Ներկայում փախստականների ճգնաժամն է, և մարդիկ են Հալեպից փախչում»,- նշել է Բեյլը:
Հոլիվուդյան հայտնի դերասանը պատմել է, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանության հարցը սկսել է ուսումնասիրել ֆիլմի սցենարը կարդալուց հետո: Նրան այս հարցում շատ է օգնել նաև «Խոստումը» ֆիլմի պրոդյուսեր Էրիկ Էսրաիլյանը, ով դերասանին է տվել ֆիլմեր, գրքեր ցեղասպանության մասին: «Ես բախտ չեմ ունեցել հանդիպել Ցեղասպանության որևէ վերապրածի հետ, սակայն տեսել եմ նրանց մասնակցությամբ փաստագրական ֆիլմեր: Դրանցում ես տեսա այս մարդկանց ցավը, ովքեր ստիպված էին գործ ունենալ մարդկանց հետ, ովքեր պնդում էին, թե նրանց ընտանիքների պատմությունները ճշմարիտ չեն: Դա ս իրտ է կեղեքում»,- ասել է նա:
