Թուրքիայի քրդերի առաջնորդ Աբդուլլահ Օջալանի փաստաբանները դիմել են արդարադատության նախարարություն` պահանջելով հանդիպում կազմակերպել իրենց պաշտպանյալի հետ: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին հայտնում է թուրքական Demokrathaber.net-ը:
Հայտարարության մեջ նշվել է, որ փաստաբանների հետ Օջալանի հանդիպումների արգելքն արդեն վեց տարի է` անիրավ կերպով շարունակվում է: «Չնայած ամեն տեսակի իրավական դիմումներին` Իմրալը բանտի չկարգավորվող պայմաններում արտակարգ իրավիճակի պայմաններում հաղորդակցության իրավունքը, ընտանիքի և փաստաբանների հետ հանդիպման իրավունքներն առկախվել են: Հետևաբար, Իմրալըն արտաքին աշխարհի հետ կապն ամբողջությամբ կտրած, իրավունքն ու ամեն տեսակ մարդու իրավունքները ոտնատակ անող կալանավայր է»,- նշվում է փաստաբանների հայտարարության մեջ:
Թուրքիայի քրդերի և երկրում ահաբեկչական համարվող Քրդական աշխատավորական կուսակցության (PKK) առաջնորդ Աբդուլլահ Օջալանը 1999 թվականի փետրվարին թուրքական հատուկ ծառայությունների կողմից բռնվել էր Քենիայի մայրաքաղաքում: Նա թուրքական դատարանի կողմից մեղավոր էր ճանաչվել պետական դավաճանության մեջ և նույն տարվա հունիսին դատապարտվել մահապատժի:
Երկու տարի անց Թուրքիայում մահապատիժը չեղյալ էր հայտարարվել, եւ Օջալանի նկատմամբ կայացված դատավճիռը փոխարինվել էր ցմահ բանտարկությամբ: Օջալանն այդ պատիժը մինչ օրս կրում է Մարմարա ծովի Իմրալը կղզու բանտում:
