«Հրապարակ» թերթը գրում է.

«Այս օրերին ոչ միայն ՀՀԿ-ում եւ քաղաքական կուլիսներում, այլեւ լրագրողական շրջանակներում քննարկվում է ԱԺ նախագահի թեկնածուների հարցը։ Թեեւ Սերժ Սարգսյանը իր մտադրությունները ուշի ուշով թաքցնում է, ժամանակից շուտ որեւէ անձի թիրախ չդարձնելու համար, սակայն, քաղաքական խոհանոցին ծանոթ անձինք մի քանի անուններ են շրջանառում։

Դրա հիմքում ոչ միայն կոնկրետ ինֆորմացիան է, այլեւ ուժերի դասավորության վերլուծությունը, անձամբ իրեն՝ Սերժ Սարգսյանին նվիրվածության գործոնը, քաղաքական այլ ուժերի հետ հարաբերվելու կարողությունները։ Դա է պատճառը, որ շրջանառվում են այնպիսի իրարամերժ թեկնածություններ, ինչպիսիք են Կարեն Կարապետյանի, Էդուարդ Շարմազանովի, Ֆելիքս Ցոլակյանի, Վիգեն Սարգսյանի, Արմեն Աշոտյանի անունները։

Սակայն խոհանոցին ծանոթ անձինք բացառում են Կարեն Կարապետյանի թեկնածությունը, քանի որ այդ պարագայում հնարավոր է ձեւավորվի երկու Կարապետյանների իշխանություն, որի պարագայում Սերժ Սարգսյանի հետագա գործունեությունը կարող է հարցականի տակ դրվել։ Բացառում են նաեւ Արմեն Աշոտյանի թեկնածությունը, քանի որ ԱԺ նախագահը պետք է շփվի եւ աշխատի ոչ միայն Հանրապետականի, այլեւ ընդդիմության հետ, իսկ Գագիկ Ծառուկյանը նրա հետ կապված լուրջ վերապահումներ ունի։

Ֆելիքս Ցոլակյանի թեկնածությունը եւս համարվում է քիչ հավանական, քանի որ փոխվելու, սերնդափոխության գաղափարախոսության շրջանակներում 65 տարեկան պաշտոնյայի նշանակումը անտրամաբանական է։ Ազգային ժողովի հանդեպ որպես ինստիտուտ հարգանք ունեցող անձինք բացառում են նաեւ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովի թեկնածությունը, ասում են՝ ճիշտ է, որ նվիրվածության եւ սերնդափոխության առումով այս թեկնածությունը ընդունելի է, սակայն մնացած բոլոր պարամետրերով ԱԺ-ին չի սազում նման նախագահ ունենալը։ 

Վիգեն Սարգսյանի մասին ասվում է, որ նա ՊՆ-ում դեռ անելիք ունի։ Հետեւաբար՝ Սերժ Սարգսյանը եւ իշխող կուսակցությունը լուրջ խնդրի առաջ են կանգնած՝ պառլամենտական կառավարման պայմաններում այնպիսի կարեւոր մարմնի, ինչպիսին Ազգային ժողովն է, նախագահ գտնելու հարցում։ Սպասենք՝ ինչ լուծում կգտնեն»:
