Համարվում է, որ հատկապես ըստ այս թռչող օրգանական միացությունների՝ մարդկանց մոտ քաղցկեղի առկայությունը ընդունակ են հայտնաբերել կենդանիները: Կարծիք կա, որ այս խնդիրը առանձնապես լավ են հաղթահարում շները, որոնք «հոտով» հիվանդությունը հայտնաբերում են դեռեւս մինչեւ այն, երբ դա կարող են կատարել բժշկական հետազոտությունները
