Սուրճի անվանումը առաջացել է «էքսպրես» բառից
Էսպրեսոն երբեք չի թարգմանվել որպես «արագ» սուրչ, հենց այդ պատճառով էլ դրա անվանման մեջ բացակայում է «կ» տառը: Ուղղակի սուրճի այս տեսա տեսակը պատրաստվում է բացառապես էսպրեսո-մեքենաներով: Այս մեքենան առաջին անգամ օգտագործվել է Իտալիայում, այդ իսկ պատճառով էլ բառն ունի իտալական արմատ, որն էլ թարգմանվում է որպես «քամած»:
Էսպրեսոյի հետ ջուր են մատուցում, քանի որ սուրճը չափազանց թունդ է
Ջուրն ըմպում են սուրճը վերջացնելուց հետո, որպեսզի սրճային թթուն չվնասի ատամի էմալը:
Էսպրեսոն երկու անգամ ավելի շատ կոֆեին է պարունակում, քան սուրճի մնացած տեսակները
Էսպրեսոն չափազանց թունդ է թվում, քանի որ քիչ քանակությամբ ջրին մեծ կոնցենտրացիայով սուրճ է ավելացվում: Որոշ դեպքերում ջուրը փոխարինվում է սերուցքով կամ կաթով: Սուրճի թունդությունը երբեք չի փոխվում:
Էսպրեսոն չափազանց դառը/թթու է
Էսպրեսոյի համը պայմանավորված է երկրորդական շատ գործոններով՝ սուրճի տեսակը, հատիկների բովման եղանակը, դրանց աճեցման ձևն ու պահպանումը: Բացի այդ իհարկե շատ կարևոր է նաև, թե ով է պատրաստում սուրճը: Թթվությունը կամ դառնությունը, քացրությունը կամ անգամ աղիությունը ամբողջովին նրանից է կախված: Կատարյալ սուրճը այս բոլորի համադրությունն է:
Եթե սուրճը խմեք քնելուց առաջ, ապա կարող եք նախապես ողջունել անքնությանը
Շատ հաճախ մարդիկ գանգատվում են, որ չեն կարողացել քնել, քանի որ գիշերով էսպրեսո են ըմպել: Սակայն դա ուղղակի սխալ մտածելակերպ է կամ ներշնչանք, քանի որ իրականում կոֆեինը օրգանիզմի վրա ազդեցություն է ունենում միայն դրա օգտագործումից 15 րոպե անց, իսկ դրա պիկը հասնում է 2-3 ժամ հետո: Այնուհետև ազդեցությունն անհետանում է, իսկ կոֆեինը օրգանիզմից դուրս է գալիս 2 ժամվա ընթացքում: Դրանից հետո այն ոչ մի ազդեցություն ունենալ չի կարող՝ ի տարբերություն ալկոհոլի, որը օրգանիզմից դուրս է գալիս 30 օրվա ընթացքում:
