Եվրամիությունում անդամակցությունը պահպանելու հարցի շուրջ կրկնական հանրաքվե չի լինելու: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հայտարարել Է ՄԵծ Բրիտանիայի վարչապետ Թերեզա Մեյը:
«Հետդարձի ճամփա լինել չի կարող»,-ասել Է նա BBC-ի եթերում, հավելելով, որ այժմ կառավարությանն անհրաժեշտ Է կատարել Brexit-ին վերաբերող իր խոստումը:   
2016 թվականի ամռանը, այն բանից հետո, երբ բրիտանացի ընտրողների գրեթե 52 տոկոսը քվեարկեց Brexit-ի օգտին, երկրում արշավ սկսվեց երկրորդ հանրաքվեն անցկացնելու համար:    
Եվրամիությունից Մեծ Բրիտանիայի դուրս գալու շուրջ կրկնական հանրաքվեի մասին առցանց-հանրագիրը մի քանի միլիոն ստորագրություն Է հավաքել:
Ավելի վաղ վարչապետ Թերեզա Մեյի պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչը հայտնել Է, որ Մեծ Բրիտանիայում վաղաժամկետ խորհրդարանական ընտրությունների անցկացումը չի ազդի ԵՄ-ից Միացյալ Թագավորության դուրս գալու գրաֆիկի վրա:  
Նրա խոսքով՝ Brexit-ը «կընթանա իր կարգով, ճիշտ այնպես, ինչպես կա»: Դաունինգ-սթրիթում վարչապետի դիվանատան աշխատակիցն ընդգծել Է, որ պաշտոնյաները շարունակում են աշխատել հանրակցությունից երկրի դուրս գալու գրաֆիկի կատարման վրա: 
Ապրիլի 18-ին վարչապետ Թերեզա Մեյը հայտարարել Է հունիսի 8-ին երկրում վաղաժամկետ համընդհանուր ընտրություններ անցկացնելու որոշման մասին: Նա այդ քայլի պատճառ Է նշել Եվրամիության կազմից Մեծ Բրիտանիայի դուրս գալու շուրջ առաջիկա բանակցությունները, որտեղ, նրա խոսքով՝ կառավարությունը պետք Է առավելագույնս ուժեղ լինի: 
Որպեսզի ժողովրդական նոր կամաարտահայտման մասին որոշումն ուժի մեջ մտնի, անհրաժեշտ Է, որ այն պաշտպանի Համայնքների պալատի պատգամավորների երկու երրորդը: Ժողովրդական ընտրյալների քվեարկությունը պետք Է կայանա ապրիլի 19-ին: Ինչպես սպասվում Է, Մեյը աջակցություն կստանա, քանի որ հիմնական կուսակցությունները հանդես են եկել վաղաժամկետ ընտրությունների անցկացման օգտին:
