Թուրքիայում տեղի ունեցող ներքաղաքական զարգացումները կարելի է դիտարկել որպես այդ երկրի համար նախատեսված նոր դերակատարմանը նախապատրաստվելու համար ձեռնարկված քայլերի փոխկապակցված շղթա: Նախապատրաստական այս գործընթացի վերջակետը դրվեց նախագահական կառավարման ձևը հավանության արժանացրած հանրաքվեով: Այժմ Թուրքիան նախագահական հանրապետություն է, իսկ գործող նախագահ Էրդողանը տեսականորեն կարող է պահպանել իր պաշտոնը մոտավորապես մինչև 2030 թվականը: Մինչ այդ, նախագահ Էրդողանը տարիների ընթացքում համառ ու հետևողական ջանքեր գործադրեց պետական կառավարման համակարգից արևմտամետ կողմնորոշում ունեցող պաշտոնյաների բազմաքանակ խավը հեռացնելու համար: Արևմտամետներին վերջին և առավել հուժկու հարվածը հասցվեց անցյալ տարվա հուլիսյան հեղաշրջման փորձից հետո՝ տասնյակ հազարավոր մարդիկ ձերբակալվեցին, ենթարկվեցին տարատեսակ հետապնդումների, զրկվեցին աշխատանքից: Բանն այն է, որ գերազանցապես թուրք արևմտամետներից բաղկացած իշխանական վերնախավն ընդունակ չէր լինելու ստանձնել Թուրքիային առաջարկվող նոր դերակատարումը, քանի որ հետայսու պաշտոնական Անկարան պետք է գործի ոչ թե արևմտյան բարոյա-իրավական սկզբունքների շրջանակներում, այլ արևմտյան իրական շահերը սպասարկելու հստակ պահանջի և պատվերի պայմաններին համապատասխան: Թուրքիայի նոր դերակատարումը նախատեսում է պաշտոնական Անկարայի քաղաքական, դիվանագիտական, տնտեսական և ռազմական նախաձեռնումների հետևողական ակտիվացում Մերձավոր և Միջին Արևելքում, Կենտրոնական Ասիայում ու Հարավային Կովկասում:
