Մի անգամ պապարացիները, Լինին Նյու Յորքի նորաձևության շաբաթվա ընթացքում տեսնելով, կարծեցին, որ նա հայտնի աստղ է: Նրանք լուսանկարեցին Լինին՝ կարծելով, որ նա նորաձևություն լուսաբանող լրագրող է կամ էլ բլոգեր:
Այդ դեպքից հետո նա իսկապես սկսեց վարել նորաձևությանը նվիրված բլոգ՝ Accident Icon անվան տակ:
Նա անգամ միտք չուներ հայտնի դառնալու:
Շուտով Սլեյթերին նկատեցին նորաձևության աշխարհի այնպիսի հսկաներ, ինչպիսիք են H&M-ը, Mango-ն և այլն:
Լին Սլեյթերի նկարները տարածվեցին ողջ համացանցով «Ամերիկայի ամենամոդայիկ տատիկը» գրություններով:
Ինքը Սլեյթերն իր մասին ասում է. «Իմ անձնական ոճը դժվար է նկարագրել: Այն մինիմալիստիկ է, պրովոկացիոն, հրապուրիչ և ավանգարդային: Առաջին տեղում ինձ համար անկեղծությունն է: Ես երբեք չեմ նկարվի մի հագուստով, որը չէի կրի առօրյա կյանքում»:
Հարկ է նշել, որ Լինը իր տարիքին համապատասխան է երևում, չի թաքցնում սպիտակ մազերը և գրեթե չի մշակում նկարները:
