Մինչև վերջերս բժշկության մեջ «ուշ ծննդաբերած» տերմինը վերաբերում էր կանանց, ովքեր առաջին անգամ մայրացել են 25 տարեկանից հետո:
Համարվում էր, որ ապագա մոր իդեալական տարիքը 20-27-ն է:
Բայց գիտնականների վերջին բացահայտումը հերքեց այս վարկածները:
Այն մասին, թե որ տարիքում է առավել լավ մայր դառնալ, շատ վեճեր կան:
Մի կոմից՝ երիտասարդ մայրերը ավելի ամուր առողջություն ունեն, նրանց ձվաբջիջները չեն հասցրել ենթարկվել շրջակա միջավայրի այնքան վնասակար ազդեցություններին, որքան ավելի հասուն կանանցը:
Բայց մյուս կողմից՝ տարեցտարի կանայք ավելի ուշ են ամուսնանում, ավելի մեծ ուշադրություն են դարձնում կարիերային, շրջագայություններին, անհոգ երիտասարդությանը:

Բացի դրանից՝ ավելի երիտասարդ տարիքում կանանց շրջանում ավլի հաճախ են հանդիպում տարբեր հիվանդություններ և վիճակներ, որոնք կարող են դժվարացնել ծննդաբերությունը:

Սակայն բժիշկները զգուշացնում են, որ 35 տարեկանից հետո աճում է բարդությունների և քրոնիկ հիվանդությունների առաջացման ռիսկը, այդ տարիքում կանայք պետք է հղիությունը բժիշկների խիստ հսկողությամբ պլանավորեն:
