Նորածին երեխային լողացնելը մայրիկների համար պատատասխանատու գործ է, քանի որ երեխան դեռ այնքան փխրուն է և զգայուն:
Մանկաբույժները երեխային ճիշտ լողացնելու մի քանի սկզբունքներ են մշակել, որոնք կներկայացնենք ստորև:
Երեխային լողացնելուց առաջ անհրաժեշտ է տաքացնել սենյակը կամ սենյակի տվյալ անկյունը: Ընդհանրապես ցանկալի է, որ երեխայի սենյակի ջերմաստիճամը մշտապես լինի 18-20C
Երեխային լողացնելու ջրի ջերմաստիճանը պետք է ստուգել արմունկով` ձեռքով ջերմաստիճանի ստուգումը երբեմն կարող է խաբուսիկ լինել
Երեխայի հագուստը հանելիս պետք է գտնվել ջերմության աղբյուրին մոտ, որպեսզի փոքրիկը հանկարծ չմրսի
Երեխային պետք է լողացնել արագ, բայց միևնույն ժամանակ նուրբ շարժումներով
Լողացնելուց անմիջապես հետո երեխային պետք է փաթաթել տաք և չոր սրբիչի մեջ և շփել ոտքից մինչև գլուխ
Լողացնելուց հետո արագ պետք է հագցնել երեխային` չմոռանալով գլխարկի մասին:
Ընդհանրապես երեխային խնամելիս, օրինակ տակաշորերը փոխելիս, լողացնելիս և այլն, պետք է հետևել, որպեսզի նա չսառի, գործել արագ և երեխային միշտ ծածկած պահել:
