Արցախի Հանրապետության նախագահ Բակո Սահակյանը ուղերձ է հղել Ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակի օրվա կապակցությամբ: «Արմենպրես»-ը ներկայացնում է ուղերձն ամբողջությամբ:
«Սիրելի՛ հայրենակիցներ,
1915 թվականի ապրիլի 24-ը դարձավ մեր ժողովրդի հազարամյա պատմության ամենաողբերգական եւ արյունալի էջերից մեկը: Ապրիլյան այդ օրերին Օսմանյան Թուրքիայում մեկնարկ տրվեց հրեշավոր մի ծրագրի, որի նպատակն էր ի սպառ բնաջնջել հայ ժողովրդին, ոչնչացնել մեր պատմական հայրենիքը, մշակութային եւ հոգեւոր արժեքները:
Սա մարդկության դեմ պետականորեն իրականացված առաջին ցեղասպանությունն էր, որի զոհ դարձան ավելի քան մեկուկես միլիոն հայեր, գրեթե նույնքան էլ բռնագաղթեցին իրենց պապենական օջախներից ու բնօրրանից, նրանց ունեցվածքը թալանվեց եւ յուրացվեց դահիճների կողմից:
Սակայն հայ ժողովուրդն իր անսասան հավատքի, տոկունության, հայրենիքի նկատմամբ անսահման սիրո եւ նվիրվածության շնորհիվ կարողացավ դիմակայել այդ սարսափելի արհավիրքին: Մեր պատմական հայրենիքի մի փոքր մասում կրկին վեր խոյացավ հայոց եռագույնը, եւ այսօր ունենք ազատ, անկախ ու ինքնիշխան Մայր Հայաստան եւ Արցախի Հանրապետություն: Ցեղասպանությունից մազապուրծ եղած մեր հայրենակիցները, ովքեր ապաստան գտան երկրագնդի տարբեր ծայրերում, ձեւավորեցին հզոր սփյուռք, որն ապրում է հայրենիքի հոգսերով եւ հանդիսանում է մեր պետականության կարեւորագույն հենասյունրից մեկը:
Հայ ժողովրդի հիշողությունից երբեք չի ջնջվի Մեծ եղեռնը: Մենք հաստատակամորեն շարունակելու ենք պայքարել Հայոց ցեղասպանության միջազգային ճանաչման եւ նրա ժխտումը դատապարտելու համար:
Վաղեմության ժամկետ չունեցող այս ոճիրը չպետք է մոռանա նաեւ քաղաքակիրթ աշխարհը: Մոռացությունն ու անտարբերությունն այստեղ ինքնին հանցագործություն են եւ նպաստում են ապագայում նոր ոճրագործությունների իրականացմանը: Այս պարզ ճշմարտությունը բազմիցս ապացուցվել է 20-21-րդ դարերում, եւ մենք շնորհակալ ենք այն մարդկանց ու պետություններին, որոնք այդ ծանր օրերին եղել են մեր ժողովրդի կողքին, որոնք այսօր էլ սատարում են մեզ` հանուն արդարության վերականգնման մեր պայքարում:
Ոգեկոչելով սուրբ նահատակների հիշատակը՝ մենք պետք է քաջ գիտակցենք, որ մեր հայրենիքի պաշտպանունակության ու ժողովրդի անվտանգության ամենահուսալի գրավականը ազատ, ինքնիշխան ու ժողովրդավարական պետականությունն է, մարտունակ բանակը, Հայաստան-Արցախ-Սփյուռք կուռ եռամիասնությունը, որոնց ամրապնդման, զարգացման ու զորացման համար կանենք ամեն ինչ»:
