Շավարշ Քոչարյանը կարեւորում է ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից պետական բարձր մակարդակով Հայոց ցեղասպանությանն անդրադարձը

Աշխարհը պետք է ճանաչի եւ դատապարտի Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը , որպեսզի հետագայում նման հանցագործությունները չկրկնվեն: «Արմենպրես» հաղորդմամբ` Ծիծեռնակաբերդի հուշահամալիրում լրագրողներին այս մասին ասաց ՀՀ Արտաքին գործերի փոխնախարար Շավարշ Քոչարյանը: «Քանի դեռ Հա յոց ցեղասպանությունը հստակ չի ճանաչվել եւ դատապարտվել, մեծ է վտանգը, որ նման ոճրագործությունները ցանկացած պահի կարող են կրկնվել: Դրա համար էլ մենք պետք է կարողանանք այնպիսի միջավայր ստեղծել, որպեսզի Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը վերջնականապես ճանաչվի եւ դատապարտվի»,-ասաց նա: Լրագրողների հարցին, թե առաջիկայում որ երկրները կարող են ճանաչել Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը, Քոչարյանը պատասխանեց. «Գիտեք իրականում կարեւոր է, որ բոլորն էլ ճանաչեն: Կարեւոր է, որ ԱՄՆ-ը ոչ միայն նահանգների, այլեւ պետական բարձր մակարդակով խոսի Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին, բայց մեր վերջնական նպատակն այն է, որպեսզի Հայոց ցեղասպանությունն առաջին հերթին ճանաչի Թուրքիան»:
Ապրիլի 24-ին աշխարհասփյուռ հայությունը նշում է Հայոց ցեղասպանության 102-րդ տարելիցը: Հայ ժողովուրդը, երկրի բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաներն ու Հայաստան ժամանած հյուրերը ապրիլի 24-ին Ծիծեռնակաբերդի բարձունքում են՝ հարգանքի տուրք մատուցելու Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակին:
