Սամանթա Փաուերը ցավում է, որ Օբամայի պաշտոնավարման ժամանակահատվածում ԱՄՆ չի ճանաչել Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը

Միավորված ազգերի կազմակերպությունում Միացյալ Նահանգների նախկին դեսպան Սամանթա Փաուերը, ով այժմ դասավանդում է Հարվարդի Քենեդիի անվան կառավարման դպրոցում, ցավով նշել է, որ Օբամայի վարչակազմի կառավարման ժամանակահատվածում չեն ճանաչել Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը: «Շատ եմ ցավում, որ Օբամայի վարչակազմում մ եր պաշտոնավարման ժամանակահատվածում մենք չենք ճանաչել Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը»,-թվիթերյան իր միկրոբլոգում գրել է Փաուերը:
Բարաք Օբաման նախընտրական քարոզարշավի ընթացքում հայ համայնքին բազմիցս խոստացել էր նախագահ ընտրվելու դեպքում ճանաչել Հայոց ցեղասպանության փաստը, սակայն իր ամենամյա ապրիլքսանչորսյան ուղերձներում «ցեղասպանություն» տերմինի փոխարեն կիրառում էր «Մեծ Եղեռն»-ը:
Օսմանյան կառավարության կողմից իրականացվածՀայոց ցեղասպանության փաստըհիմնավորվել է, ճանաչվել ու հաստատվել ականատեսների վկայություններով, օրենքներով, բանաձեւերով եւ բազմաթիվ նահանգների ու միջազգային կազմակերպություններիորոշումներ
Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչել են շատ պետություններ. առաջինըպաշտոնապես ընդունել է Ուրուգվայը 1965 թ.: Հայ ժողովրդիկոտորածը պաշտոնապեսդատապարտել եւ ճանաչել են որպես ցեղասպանություն` ըստ միջազգային իրավունքի, հետեւյալերկրները` Ֆրանսիա, Իտալիա, Բելգիա, Նիդեռլանդներ, < /em>Շվեյցարիա, Շվեդիա, Ռուսաստան, Լեհաստան, Լիտվա, Հունաստան, Սլովակիա, Կիպրոս, Լիբանան, Ուրուգվայ, Պարագվայ, Արգենտինա (2 օրենք, 5 բանաձեւ), Վենեսուելա, Չիլի, Բոլիվիա, Կանադա, Վատիկան, Ավստրիա, Լյուքսեմբուրգ, Գերմանիա, Ավստրալիայի Նոր Հարավային Ուելս նահանգը, ԱՄՆ 45 նահա նգներ:
