Սահմանադրական փոփոխությունների շնորհիվ անվերահսկելի իշխանություն ստացած Էրդողանից հայ-թուրքական հարաբերությունների կարգավորման ուղղությամբ որևէ դրական քայլ ակնկալելը միամտություն կլինի:
Հակառակը՝ Էրդողանի մոտ նկատվող նեոօսմանիզմի հակումները նոր մարտահրավերներ են ստեղծելու ողջ տարածաշրջանի, այդ թվում՝ Հայաստանի համար:
Էրդողանի ղեկավարած ներկայիս Թուրքիան որևէ մոտիվացիա չունի կարգավորել հայ-թուրքական հարաբերություններն, ավելին՝ թուրքական հանրության ներսում անգամ նման ձևավորված պահանջ չկա: Թուրքիայում քիչ չեն նաև այն քաղաքացիները, ովքեր տեղյակ էլ չեն, որ Հայաստանի հետ կա փակ սահման:
Չպետք է մոռանալ նաև Ղարաբաղյան հարցում Թուրքիայի ապակառուցողականության, այդ երկրի հակահայկական արտաքին քաղաքականության և, ի վերջո, այն մասին, որ Թուրքիայում "հայ" եզրույթը դեռևս օգտագործվում է որպես վիրավորանք:
Հայաստան-Թուրքիա հարաբերությունների կարգավորման միակ ընդունելի տարբերակը շարունակում է մնալ առանց նախապայմանների համաձայնության գալը: Միջազգային հարաբերությունների պատմության մեջ մտած "ֆուտբոլային դիվանագիտությունն" ուրվագծեց այդ ճանապարհը, բայց Թուրքիան կասեցրեց գործընթացը, իսկ Ցյուրիխյան արձանագրությունները Թուրքական Մեջլինիսի ինչ որ արխիվում փոշի են հավաքում:
