 Ավելի ճիշտ է աշխատանք տանել քաղցկեղի եւ նմանատիպ հիվանդությունների կանխարգելման ուղղությամբ, քան գումարներ ծախսել բուժման վրա: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը,  Երևանի պետական բժշկական համալսարանի եւ Ուռուցքաբանության հայկական ասոցիացիայի նախաձեռնությամբ հրավիրված քաղցկեղը վերապրածների կոնգրեսի ընթացքում նման կարծիք հայտնեց ՀՀ Ազգային ժողովի առողջապահության, մայրության և մանկության հարցերի մշտական հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Արա Բաբլոյանը:

«Այս հիվանդության մասին խոսելիս պետք է կրկնել նույն բանը, բայց դա  կրկնություն չէ, դա առողջապահության այն պահանջն է, որ պետք է իրականացնել որպես ռազմավարություն քաղցկեղի դեմ մեր պայքարում: 25 տարի առաջ ես եկա որպես առողջապահության կազմակերպիչ հենց վիրաբուժական սեղանի կողքից, եւ իմ պատկերացումը առողջապահության վերաբերյալ հենց այն էր, ինչ մենք անում ենք բժշկության մեջ ամեն օր, սակայն ես շատ արագ հասկացա, որ դա առողջապահություն չէ, դա ընդամենը առողջապահության մեկ մասն է, որով մենք փորձում ենք արդեն հիվանդ մարդկանց օգնել: Իրականո ւմ, առողջապահությունը այդ ձգտումն ու  ջանքերի գործադրումն է՝ ուղղված  մարդկանց առողջ պահելուն»,-ասաց նա:

Արա Բաբլոյանի խոսքով՝ կանխարգելման համար իրականացված աշխատանքները միգուցե չբերեն 100 տոկոսանոց արդյունքի, բայց կնվազեցնեն հիվանդացության դեպքերը:
