ԻՊ-ի ահաբեկիչներն ականապատել են Պալմիրայի թատրոնը

Սիրիայի պատմական թանգարանների ումշակութային ժառանգության տնօրեն Մաամուն Աբդ ալ Քարիմըմտավախություն ունի, որ «Իսլամական պետության» ահաբեկիչները կոչնչացնեն Պալմիրայի թատրոնը:
Վկայակոչելով արաբական աղբյուրները, այս մասին նա նշել է Պալմիրայի Հաղթական կամարն ԻՊ-ի կողմից պայթեցվելուց հետո: «Նրանք ցանկանում են ոչնչացնել թատրոնը: Մենք գիտենք, որ «Իսլամական պետությունն» այլ վայրեր էլ է ականապատել: Մենք վախենում ենք ողջ քաղաքի համար»,- նշել է նա: Ավելի վաղ` հոկտեմբերի 5-ին, «Իսլամական պետության» ահաբեկիչները Սիրիայի Պալմիրա (Թադմուր) հնագույն քաղաքում պայթեցրել են հաղթական կամարը: Սիրիայի պատմական թանգարանների ու մշակութային ժառան գության տնօրեն Մամուն Աբդ ալ Քարիմի խոսքով, ականատեսները տեսել են, թե ինչպես են գրոհայինները պայթեցրել կամարը մեծ քանակությամբ պայթուցիկ նյութերով: «Այն, ինչին մենք այսօր ականատես ենք լինում, վկայում է մտածված սցենարի մասին, որով Պալմիրա քաղաքը ջնջվում է երկրի երեսից»,- նշել է նա` ավելացնելով, որ կամարը մի քանի շաբաթ առաջ ականապատվել էր:
Պալմիրայի Հաղթակամարը կառուցվել է երկրորդ դարում Սեպտիմիոս Սևեր կայսրի օրոք: Ինչպես ամբողջ քաղաքը, այն նույնպես կառուցված էր հռոմեական ոճով: Կամարի գագաթին փորագրված էր կայսրի անունը:
Ավելի վաղ` օգոստոսին, ԻՊ-ի ահաբեկիչները պայթեցրել էին Պալմիրայի Պաալ Շամին հինավուրց տաճարը:
ԻՊ-ի ահաբեկիչները մայիսի 20-ին վերահսկողություն են հաստատել հնագույն քաղաքում աշխարհում հնագույն պատմական քաղաքներից մեկի վրա: Պալմիրայի` բաց երկնքի տակ թանգարան համարվող ավերակները, որոնք ձգվում են շուրջ երեք կիլոմետր, ներառված են ՅՈՒՆԵՍԿՕ-ի համաշխարհային ժառանգության ցանկում: Այն գտնվում է Սիրիայի մայրաքաղաք Դամասկոսից 204 կմ հեռավորությամբ:
Հնությունների և թանգարանների վարչության պետ Մաամուն Աբդ ալ Քարիմն ավելի վաղ դիմել էր Սիրիայի օդային ուժերին և միջազգային հանրությանը` կոչ անելով պահպանել «սիրիական անապատի մարգարիտը»:
