Սինուսային գլխացավ։ Այս գլխացավն առաջանում է ուժեղ սինուսիտի արդյունքում։ Տհաճ զգացողությունները լինում են քթի և աչքերի շրջանում։ Կարող է նկատվել նաև ջերմություն։ Լավագույն տարբերակն այս դեպքում բժշկի դիմելն է։
Միգրեն։ Միգրենը նևրոլոգիական վիճակ է, որն արտահայտվում է ուժեղ ցավով, լույսի և ձայների նկատմամբ զգայունությամբ, սրտխառնոցով և փսխումով։ Միգրենով տառապող մարդիկ պետք է բժշկի հսկողության տակ գտնվեն։
Հիստամինային գլխացավ։ Գլխացավի այս տեսակը հազվադեպ է հանդիպում։ Ցավն այս դեպքում մի առանձնահատկություն ունի. այն առաջանում է ամեն օր նույն ժամին։ Տանջող ցավն առաջանում է աչքերի հատվածից։ Ամենից հաճախ այն սկսվում է քնելուց հետո։ Այն հաճախ առաջանում է նաև ալկոհոլի օգտագործումից հետո և ծխողներից շատերի մշտական ուղեկիցն է։
Գլխացավ՝ ֆիզիկական ծանրաբեռնվածության դեպքում։ Սա ինչ-որ չափով նման է միգրենին։ Նշաններն ու ցավի ուժը տարբերվում են։ Այդ պատճառով էլ կարևոր է ժամանակին դիմել բժշկի օգնությանը։
Կայծակնային գլխացավ։ Ցավի պիկը տևում է մոտ 60 վայրկյան, սակայն ցավը կարող է շարունակվել նույնիսկ մի քանի շաբաթ։ Կարևոր է ժամանակին դիմել բժշկի օգնությանը, քանի որ այս գլխացավը կարող է առավել լուրջ հիվանդության ազդանշան լինել։

- Նոպաները սկսվում են հանկարծակի։
- Ցավը թուլանում է 60 վայրկյան անց։
- Ցավը, սակայն, պահպանվում է, տևում է 1 ժամից 10 օր։
- Կարող է ուղեկցվել սրտխառնոցով, գլխապտույտով և գիտակցության կորստով։
