Գերագույն դատարանը հոկտեմբերի 6-ին անօրինական Է ճանաչել եվրոպական ընկերությունների կողմից տվյալների փոխանցումն ԱՄՆ-ին: Այդ օրենքը կտարածվի նաեւ քաղաքացիների անձնական տվյալների վրա, ինչը կխախտի այդ բնագավառում երկրների 15-ամյա համագործակցությունը, հաղորդում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով Reuters-ին:
Դատարանի որոշման մեջ իրավափանական ուժը կորցրած Է ճանաչվում Safe Harborհամաձայնագիրը, որը նկարագրում Է այն կանոնները, որոնք ԱՄՆ-ի եւ ԵՄ-ի ընկերություններին թույլ են տալիս տեղեկատվություն փոխանակել, այդ թվում՝ քաղաքացիների անձնական տվյալների վերաբերյալ: Բարձրագույն արբիտրաժային մարմինը «անսահմանորեն անփույթ» Է որակել ամերիկյան ընկերությունների վերաբերմունքը դրա պահպանման նկատմամբ այն դեպքերում, երբ համաձայնագրի կատարումը հակասել Է ԱՄՆ-ի ազգային անվտանգության շահերին կամ օրենքներին:
«Դա չափազանց վատ լուր Է ԵՄ-ի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի միջեւ առեւտրի համար»,-եվրոպական դատարանի որոշումը գնահատել Է Ռիչարդ Կամբլին՝ Linklaters իրավաբանական ընկերության տեխնոլոգիաների, մեդիայի եւ հաղորդակցությունների բաժնի ղեկավարը: Նա պարզաբանել Է, որ այժմ բիզնեսն ստիպված կլինի փնտրել շրջանցիկ ճանապարհներ, որպեսզի իրականացնի համագործակցության այն մեխանիզմները, որոնք հաստատվել Էին Safe Harbor համաձայնագրի օգնությամբ:
