 Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքական փոխանորդ Արամ արքեպիսկոպոս Աթեշյանը կարծում է, որ պատրիարքի ընտրության կազմակերպման հարցում իրենք պետք է աշխատեն պատկան մարմինների հետ համաձայնությամբ: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին նա խոսել է Ստամբուլի հայկական «Ժամանակ» օրաթերթի հետ զրույցում:

Անդրադառնալով մայիսի 28-ին և 30-ին Եկեղեցական ժողովի նախագահ Սահակ եպիսկոպոս Մաշալյանի հետ հանդիպումներին` Աթեշյանը նշել է. «Որպես հոգևորականներ` մենք անձնական հարցեր չունենք և չենք կարող ունենալ: Որպես երկու բարձրաստիճան եկեղեցականներ` մենք կրում ենք պատրիարքական աթոռի ողջ ծանրությունը մեր ուսերի վրա: Ընդունում եմ, որ տարբեր մտածելակերպերով, ընկալումներով ենք մոտենում առկա խնդիրներին և դրանց լուծման հեռանկարներին, սակայն հուսով եմ, որ եղբայրական ոգով, միասնական ու կառուցողական աշխատանքով պետք է կարողանանք ի վերջո լուծում գտել»:

Խոսելով պատրիարքի ընտրության մասին նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի կողմից ապրիլի 24-ին արած ուղերձում առկա ակնարկի մասին` փոխանորդը դա դրական երևույթ է համարել: «Հասկանալի է, որ Էրդողանի պատգամի ակնարկը չի նշանակում անմիջապես ձեռնարկել ընտրությունների անցկացումը, սակայն դա կարևոր նախադրյալ է մեր խնդրին դրական լուծում տալու հարցում»,- ասել է նա:

Աթեշյանը հայտնել է, որ չի խուսափում ընտրությունների անցկացումից: «Ես չեմ խուսափում ընտրություններից, սակայն իրադարձություններից առաջ անցնելը լուծում չի բերի մեր խնդիրներին: Եթե աշխատենք պատկան մարմինների հետ համաձայնությամբ, ապա ամեն ինչ ավելի դյուրին և հեզասահ կլինի»,- եզրափակել է նա:
