«Ժամանակ» թերթը գրում է. «Երեկ Կենտրոնական ընտրական հանձնաժողովը հրապարակել է Հանրապետական կուսակցության, «Դաշնակցության» եւ «Ծառուկյան» դաշինքի այն պատգամավորության թեկնածուների ցանկը, որոնք ինքնաբացարկ են ներկայացրել եւ հետեւաբար չեն դառնա մանդատի տեր: Այսպիսով, մի քանի շաբաթ տեւած անորոշությունից հետո խորհրդարանի կազմի առումով իրավիճակը որոշակիանում է, թեեւ, իհարկե, դեռեւս հայտնի են ինքնաբացարկ ներկայացնողները, ինչը հազիվ թե ինքնաբերաբար նշանակի, որ մնացողները երաշխավորված մանդատատեր են: Ամենայն հավանականությամբ, մենք ականատես ենք լինում այսպես ասած ցուցակների զտման առաջին փուլին, «առաջին երեսին»:

Այդպիսով, հանրապետության Առաջին դեմքը դառնում է վարչապետը, ձեւավորվելու է նոր կառավարություն: Ահա առաջիկա տարվա ներիշխանական գլխավոր ինտրիգը եւ, ըստ էության, գուցե ամբողջ հնգամյակի գլխավոր ինտրիգը: Եվ այս տեսանկյունից, ներկայիս խորհրդարանական կազմն առաջիկա տարվա ընթացքում ենթակա է այդ ինտրիգին: Իսկ այն հանգուցալուծվելու է իշխանության բեւեռների կամ թեւերի ուժերի հարաբերակցությամբ: Այստեղ կան առնվազն երկու հիմնական հավակնորդներ՝ Սերժ Սարգսյանի թեւը եւ Կարեն Կարապետյանը, որն ինքը թեւ չունի, այլ ավելի շուտ հանդիսանում է Սամվել Կարապետյանի թեւի ներկայացուցիչ: Սրան զուգահեռ, ակնհայտ է, որ խաղին բավական գործուն ներգրավվածություն ունենալու են «Դաշնակցությունն» ու Գագիկ Ծառուկյանը: Կլինեն բավականին տարբեր այլ ավելի մանր գործոններ, մինչեւ անգամ ընդդիմադիր դաշտում, եւ գուցե նույնիսկ խորհրդարանից դուրս մնացածների շարքերում:
Այսպիսով, կաթսան շարունակելու է եռալ, կամ ավելի շուտ դեռեւս չի էլ հասել եռման կրիտիկական աստիճանի: Այդ իրավիճակում անունները, որոնք ինքնաբացարկ են ներկայացրել առաջին փուլում, անկասկած, չեն արտացոլում ամբողջական պատկերը, խճանկարը, որ առկա է նոր խորհրդարանում: Կախված հիմնական բեւեռների միջեւ ուժերի հարաբերակցությունից առաջիկա տարում, անկասկած, շատ հավանական են նոր ինքնաբացարկներ՝ մինչեւ մայիսի 18, եւ մանդատներից հրաժարականներ՝ արդեն 18-ից հետո:
