Ինչպես էին տեսնում 2000 թվականը 19-րդ դարի ֆրանսիացի նկարիչները

19-րդ դարի վերջին Ֆրանսիան արդյունաբերական զարգացում էր ապրում, այդ իսկ պատճառվ էլ այն ժամանակների նկարիչները կարծում էին, թե ապագայում ամեն ինչ մեքենայացված է լինելու:
20-րդ դարում ֆրանսիացի շատ նկարիչներ, այդ թվում նաև՝ Ժան-Մարկ Կոտեն, սկսեցին պատկերացնել Ֆրանսիայի ապագան, ավելի կոնկրետ, թե ինչպես կապրեն մարդիկ 2000 թվականին: Արդյունքում ծնվեցին մի շարք պատկերներ, որոնք պետք է ցուցադրվեին Փարիզի համաշխարհային ցուցահանդեսի ժամանակ:
1. Զույգն օրաթերթ է «լսում»։
2. Նկարիչները կարծում էին, որ անիվներով կոշիկները կարագացնեն ընթացքը։
3. Ավտոմեքենաներով «պայքար»։
4. Սա անդրադարձնող էկրան է, որը կցված է ֆոնոգրաֆին։
5. Մեքենան ձայնագրում է բառերը և ուղարկում է այն սուրհանդակի միջոցով։
6. Թռչող երեխաներ։
7. Ապագայի գեղեցկության սրահ, որտեղ ամեն ինչ անում են մեքենաները։
8. Կետը երեխաներին ուղեկցում է ջրի տակ։
