Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանին հոկտեմբերի 7-ին իր հավատարմագրերն է հանձնել Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում Միացյալ Թագավորության արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Ջուդիթ Ֆարնուորթը: Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության եւ տեղե կատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, Նախագահը շնորհավորել է դեսպանին պաշտոնն ստանձնելու կապակցությամբ և մաղթել հաջողություններ` ընդգծելով, որ Միացյալ Թագավորության հետ միջպետական կապերի ամրապնդման, փոխգործակցության ընդլայնման և երկկողմ հարաբերությունները որակական նոր մակարդակի բարձրացնելու համար առկա են բոլոր նախադրյալները:

Սերժ Սարգսյանը հույս է հայտնել, որ նորանշանակ դեսպանը կներդնի բոլոր ջանքերը հայ-բրիտանական միջպետական օրակարգը նոր նախաձեռնություններով ավելի հարստացնելու և առաջ մղելու ուղղությամբ:

Հանդիպմանը երկուստեք կարևորվել է միջխորհրդարանական համագործակցությունը, որում, զրուցակիցների համոզմամբ, մեծ է երկու երկրների խորհրդարաններում գործող բարեկամության խմբերի ավանդը: Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը հույս է հայտնել, որ խորհրդարանականների միջև ակտիվ շփումներն ու երկուստեք հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող հարցերի շուրջ պարբերական խորհրդակցությունների անցկացման դինամիկան կշարունակվեն նաև ՄԹ խորհրդարանում ձևավորվելիք նոր բարեկամության խմբի հետ: Հանրապետության Նախագահը միջխորհրդարանական և առհասարակ, հայ-բրիտանական կապերի զարգաց ման գործում ընդգծել է բարոնուհի Քերոլայն Քոքսի մեծ ներդրումը, ով նաև ԼՂ այցերի լավ ավանդույթ ստեղծեց:

ՀՀ Նախագահը և ՄԹ դեսպանը բարձր են գնահատել նաև պաշտպանության ոլորտում ձևավորված հայ-բրիտանական համագործակցությունը, այդ առումով կարևոր ձեռքբերում համարելով 2014թ. սեպտեմբերին Երևանում կայացած քննարկումներն ու ռազմական համագործակցության պլանի ստորագրումը:

Սերժ Սարգսյանը և դեսպան Ֆարնուորթը մեծապես կարևորել են համագործակցությունը առևտրատնտեսական ոլորտում և միջազգային կառույցների, այդ թվում` ՄԱԿ-ի, ԵԱՀԿ-ի ու այլ կազմակերպությունների շրջանակներում:

Ջուդիթ Ֆարնուորթն ընդգծել է, որ Մեծ Բրիտանիան ուշադրությամբ հետևում է ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի գործունեությանը և ցանկանում է բոլոր միջոցներով աջակցել այդ ձևաչափով տեղի ունեցող խաղաղ բանակցային գործընթացին:

Նախագահը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել ԼՂ հիմնախնդրի կարգավորման, ինչպես նաև Հայաստանի համար կենսական նշանակություն ունեցող այլ հարցերում Մեծ Բրիտանիայի անկողմնակալ դիրքորոշման համար:

Միացյալ Թագավորության դեսպանը նշել է, որ իր երկիրը պատրաստակամ է առաջատար դեր ստանձնել Հայաստանի և Եվրամիության միջև համագործակցությունը կարգավորող նոր իրավական շրջանակի ձևավորման հարցում, որը, նրա համոզմամբ, կարող է շարժիչ ուժ հանդիսանալ ինչպես հայ-բրիտանական երկկողմ, այնպես էլ բազմակողմ համագործակցությունն առաջ մղելու և զարգացնելու գործում:
