 Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմի մասնակից ամենատարեց վետերանն, ով բնակվում է Հայաստանում, 102 տարեկան է: Հայաստանում վետերանների թիվը 2017թ-ի ապրիլի 1-ի դրությամբ 624 է: Հաղթանակի 65-ամյակը տոնում էինք 3500, իսկ 69-ամյակը` 1450 վետերանների հետ: ՀՀ աշխատանքի և սոցիալական հարցերի նախարարության սոցիալական ապահովության պետական ծառայության պետի մամուլի քարտուղաÖ € Արամայիս Շահբեկյանն  «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրեց, որ Երևանում Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմի մասնակիցների թիվն ամենաշատն է` 250, իսկ մարզերից ամենաշատ թվով վետերաններ բնակվում են Շիրակում՝ 57, Լոռիում` 53, Սյունիքում` 46, Գեղարքունիքում` 45, Տավուշում` 43, Կոտայքում` 40, Արարատում` 33, Արմավիրում` 30, Արագածոտնում` 16 և Վայոց ձորում` 11: 

ՀՀ աշխատանքի և սոցիալական հարցերի նախարարությունը Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմի մասնակից Հայաստանում բնակվող վետերաններին տրամադրում է նաև անվճար կամ արտոնյալ երթևեկության կտրոններ:

Հայաստանում գործում է վետերանական 50 կազմակերպություն, որոնցից 11-ը` Երեւանում: Հայրենական պատերազմին, պաշտոնական տվյալներով, մասնակցել են 600 հազար հայեր ոչ միայն Խորհրդային Հայաստանից, այլեւ` Սփյուռքից, ԱՊՀ տարբեր երկրներից, որոնցից 200-250 հազարն ընկել են հերոսի մահով:

Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմում կամ այլ պետություններում ԽՍՀՄ զինված ուժերի կազմում մարտական գործողություններին մասնակցելու հետևանքով կամ ԽՍՀՄ զինված ուժերի կազմում ծառայողական պարտականությունները կատարելիս՝ պարգևավճար ստանալու իրավունք ունեն 1-ին խմբի հաշմանդամ դարձած անձինք` 32 հազար դրամի,  2-րդ խմբի հաշմանդամ դարձած անձինք` 28 հազար դրամի և 3-րդ խմբի հաշմանդամ դարձած անձինք ` 23 հազար դրամի չափերով:

ԽՍՀՄ զինված ուժերի կազմում զինվորական ծառայության ընթացքում 1-ին խմբի հաշմանդամ դարձած անձիք 5000 դրամի և 2-րդ խմբի հաշմանդամները` 3000 դրամի չափով ստանում են պարգևավճարներ:

Հայաստանի Հանրապետության պաշտպանության ժամանակ կամ համապատասխան պետական մարմիններում ծառայողական պարտականությունները կատարելիս` 1-ին խմբի հաշմանդամները` 55000 դրամ, 2-րդ խմբի հաշմանդամները` 48000 դրամ, իսկ 3-րդ խմբի հաշմանդամները` 36000 դրամի չափով կարող են ստանալ պարգևավճարներ: Համապատասխան պետական մարմիններում զինվորական ծառայության ընթացքում 1-ին խմբի հաշմանդամ դարձած անձը` 19000 դրամ, 2-րդ խմբի հաշմանդամը` 17000 դրամ, 3-րդ խմբի հաշմանդամը` 15000 դրամի չափով ստանում են պարգևավճարներ:

Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմի մասնակիցները կամ այլ պետություններում ԽՍՀՄ զինված ուժերի կազմում մարտական գործողությունների մասնակիցները ստանում են 12000 դրամ, Հայաստանի Հանրապետության պաշտպանության մարտական գործողությունների մասնակիցները` 5000 դրամ, Հայաստանի Հանրապետության ազգային հերոսները` 150 հազար դրամ, Մարտական խաչ շքանշանով պարգևատրված անձինք` 15 հազար դրամ պարգևավճարներ: Հայաստանի Հանրապետության պաշտպանության ժամանակ կամ ծառայողական պարտականությունները կատարելիս՝ զոհված զինծառայողի յուրաքանչյուր երեխան ստանում է 16000 դրամ պարգևավճար, իսկ ընտանիքի յուրաքանչյուր այլ անդամ՝ 13000 դրամ:

2014 թվականի ապրիլի 1-ի դրությամբ Հայրենական Մեծ պատերազմի մասնակից Հայաստանում բնակվող ամենաերիտասարդվետերանը 88 տարեկան էր, իսկ ամենատարեցի տարիքն անցնում է 100-ը: Հայաստանում վետերանների թիվն 2014թ. ապրիլի 1-իդրությամբ 1450 է: Համաձայն վիճակագրության` ամեն ամիս կյանքից հեռանում է 30-45 վետերան: 20 14-ի տարեսկզբից մինչև ապրիլի 1-ը կյանքից հեռացել է 400 վետերան:  2014-ին նույնպես Երևանում Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմի մասնակիցների թիվնամենաշատն է եղել` 565, իսկ մարզերից` Լոռիում, ուր նրանց թիվը հասնում է 128-ի, Գեղարքունիքում`116, Շիրակում` 115, Կոտայքում 104, Տավուշում 105, Սյունիքում 97, Արարատում 85,  Արմավիրու մ 65, Արագածոտնի մարզում` 42 և Վայոց ձորում 28:
