 Մայիսի 9-ին Ուկրաինայի մայրաքաղաք Կիեւում կայացավ «Եվրատեսիլ 2017»-ի 1-ին կիսաեզրափակիչ փուլը, որի ընթացքում հայաստանյան ներկայացուցիչ Արծվիկը ելույթ ունեցավ 16 համարի ներքո եւ քվերկության արդյունքում անցավ եզրափակիչ:
 Այս տարի մրցույթը մեկնաբանում են «Առաջին ալիքի» հաղորդավարներ Ավետ Բարսեղյանն ու Գոհար Գասպարյանը, որոնք երեկ՝ առաջին կիսաեզրափակչի ավարտին մեծ ոգեւորությամբ ու հուզմունքով սպասում էին, թե, երբ է հնչելու Արծվիկի անունը: Ի վերջո,  «Եվրատեսիլ 2017»-ի հաղորդավարների կողմից  սպասված՝ «Հայաստան» արտահայտությունը լսելիս՝ Ավետ Բարսեղյանն ու Գոհար Գասպարյանը նշեցին, թե մայիսի 9-ը երեկ վերածվեց քառատոնի: Սակայան հաղորդավարների նման արտահայտությունը համացանցում քննարկումների պատճառ է դարձել: Ավելին՝ օգտատերերից մեկն անգամ հորդորել է ներողություն խնդրել այդ արտահայտության համար՝ նշելով.
 «Արծվիկի՝ մի փուլ անցնելը հանրայինի եթերով եռատոնին հավասարացնող ու եռատոնը քառատոն անվանող հաղորդավարները պիտի ներողություն խնդրեն, որ էմոցիաների տակ անիմաստ համեմատություններ են անում ու խայտառակում իրանց, ու «Եռատոն» բառը հավասերեցնում երգի մրցույթում լավագույն տասնյակում հայտնվելուն։ Ավետ ու Գոհար, ամոթ ձեզ»:

Life.panorama.am-ի հետ զրույցում հաղորդավար Ավետ Բարսեղյանը, այս թեմայի շուրջ խոսելիս, նշեց.

«Սոցիալական ցանցերում ես չկամ ու ոչ էլ հետեւում եմ այդ մեկնաբանություններին, չգիտեմ, թե այդ առումով  ինչ փոթերիկներ են տիրում այժմ, սակայն չեմ կարծում, որ անթույլատրելի բան ենք արել, որ մեր եռատոնը կապել ենք էստրադային այս գեղեցիկ, փոքրիկ տոնի հետ ու ասել քառատոն: Չեմ կարծում, որ էմոցիաների նման արտահայտումը սխալ է: Բնականաբար, մենք եռատոնի հետ չենք համեմատել «Եվրատեսիլ 2017»-ում Արծվիկի՝ եզրափակիչ փուլ անցնելը, ու հասկանում ենք դրա ողջ կարեւորությունը: Կրկնվեմ՝ չեմ հետեւում համացանցային քննարկումներին, կարծում եմ  օգտատերերը պարզապես անիմաստ թեմա են ման գալիս, եւ ուրախ եմ, որ նրանք այսօր խոսելու թեմա ունեն»:
