«Հրապարակ» թերթը գրում է. «Նախկին գլխավոր դատախազ, ապա նախագահի խորհրդական, այժմ ՀՀԿ համամասնական ցուցակով պատգամավոր դարձած Գևորգ Կոստանյանը մանդատ ստանալուն պես պետք է վայր դնի ՄԻԵԴ-ում ՀՀ կառավարության ներկայացուցչի լիազորությունները, քանի որ այն անհամատեղելի է քաղաքական պաշտոնի հետ: Դա նշանակում է, որ կարևոր պաշտոններից մեկը թափուր է՝ ո՞վ կդառնա ՄԻԵԴ-ում ՀՀ կառավարության ներկայացուցիչ:
Նրա տեղակալն արդարադատության փոխնախարար Արտակ Ասատրյանն էր, նրանից բացի՝ կան երեք փոխարինող դատավորներ, ովքեր օգնում են ՀՀ կառավարության ներկայացուցչին: Կոստանյանին օգնում են ներկայիս ՄԻՊ Արման Թաթոյանը, իր նախկին տեղակալ, այժմ ԼՂՀ նախագահի խորհրդական Էմիլ Բաբայանը, ՀՀ բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնատար անձանց էթիկայի հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Սիրանուշ Սահակյանը:
Տրամաբանորեն, Կոստանյանի՝ պատգամավոր դառնալուց հետո նրանցից մեկնումեկը պետք է դառնա ՀՀ կառավարության ներկայացուցիչ: Սակայն Թաթոյանի դեպքում հնարավոր չի լինի համատեղել, այսինքն՝ մնում է երկու թեկնածու՝ Սիրանուշ Սահակյանը եւ Էմիլ Բաբայանը։ ՄԻԵԴ-ում ՀՀ կառավարության ներկայացուցիչը պետք է լինի միջազգային իրավունքի լավ մասնագետ, կատարյալ տիրապետի օտար լեզուների»:
