Նորվեգիայի գիտնականները հըոգեբանների հետ համատեղ ուսումնասիրություն են իրականացրել, որի արդյունքում նրանք գտել են ուղիղ ուղիղ կապ կնոջ քաշի եւ ինքնագնահատականի միջեւ:
Ուսումնասիրությանը մասնակցել են 1200 հոգի մինչեւ 19 տարեկան աղջիկներ: Փորձի ժամանակ մասնագետները նրանց խնդրել են գնահատել իրենց կազմվածքը: Հարցվածների 60 տոկոսն իրեն գեր է համարել:
Այնուհետև մասնագետները շարունակել են հետեւել նրանց, եւ պարզվել է, որ մինչեւ 20 տարեկանը իրենց գեր համարողների մեծ մասն իսկապես գիրացել է: Ովքեր ադեկվատ ինքնագնահատական են ունեցել, կազմվածքի փոփոխություններ առանձնապես չեն կրել:
Մասնագետներն այս փորձն անցկացրել են նաեւ տղամարդկանց շրջանում, բայց արդյունքները նույնքան արտահայտված չեն եղել:
