ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը Սպիտակ տանն ընդունել է թուրք գործընկեր Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանին:
Ինչպես նշում է Reuters գործակալությունը, ստեղծված լարվածության ֆոնին երկու երկրի առաջնորդները քննարկել են Սիրիայում քրդական ուժերին զենք մատակարարելու ԱՄՆ որոշումը, որը բարկացրել էր Անկարային:
Հանդիպման ավարտին կայացած համատեղ մամլո ասուլիսում Դոնալդ Թրամփը հայտնել է, որ Էրդողանի խնդրած «ռազմական տեխնիկան Թուրքիա կուղարկվի հնարավորինս շուտ»:
«Մեծ պատիվ է այստեղ ընդունելու Թուրքիայի նախագահ Էրդողանին: Վստահ եմ, որ մեր բանակցությունները հաջող կլինի: Մենք լավ հարաբերություններ ենք ունեցել և մտադիր ենք էլ ավելի բարելավել դրանք», - ասել է Թրամփը`
Նա նաև ընդգծել է, որ ԱՄՆ-ն աջակցում է Սիրիայում բռնության մակարդակի նվազմանն ու երկրում տիրող իրավիճակի խաղաղ կարգավորմանն ուղղված ջանքերին:
Թրամփը ընդգծել է ահաբեկչության և «Իսլամական պետության» դեմ պայքարում Թուրքիայի ջանքերը: «Մենք մեր աջակցութունն են առաջարկում թուրք ժողովրդին: Մենք աջակցում ենք Թուրքիային ահաբեկչության, այդ թվում` ԻՊ-ի և Քուրդիստանի աշխատավորական կուսակցության դեմ պայքարում», - ասել է ԱՄՆ առաջնորդը:
