Հայտնի ռոք երաժիշտ, Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին հոլիվուդյան «Խոստումը» ֆիլմի սաունդթրեքի հեղինակ ու կատարող Քրիս Քորնելը կյանքի 52-րդ տարում մահացել է: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին հայտնում է ABC News-ը:
Associated Press-ին Քորնելի ներկայացուցիչ Բրայան Բամբերին հայտնել է, որ երաժիշտը մահացել է Դեթրոյտում մայիսի 17-ի գիշերը:
Բամբերին մահն անվանել է «հանկարծակի և չսպասված»՝ նշելով, որ Քորնելի կինն ու ընտանիքը ցնցված են այդ փաստով: Ընտանիքի անդամները աշխատելու են դատաբժշկական փորձաքննող խմբի հետ՝ հասկանալու, թե ինչն է հանգեցրել երաժշտի մահվան:
Քրիս Քորնելը հայտնի է որպես Soundgarden ռոք խմբի գիտարիստ ու երգահան:
Նա հեղինակել էր «Խոստումը» երգը Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին պատմող հոլիվուդյան համանուն ֆիլմի համար: Խոսելով ֆիլմի մասին՝ երգիչն ասել էր. «Մենք պետք է տեղյակ լինենք անցյալում տեղի ունեցած դեպքերի մասին: Դա շատ կարևոր է ինձ համար, քանի որ մենք չենք պատմում պարզապես մեկ դարյա հնության պատմություն, մենք խոսում ենք այն պատմության մասին, որը տեղի է ունենում այսօր»:
