Exciting: The atmosphere was incredible on the carpet as an endless string of photographers snapped away at the celebrities

Preparations underway: Staff had been busy preparing the famous red carpeted steps all day at the stunning Palais des Festivals

Gorgeous: Falling into a saucy semi-sheer V neck at the top, the dress then upped the glamour with its stunning tulle skirt, which fell beneath a chiffon layer of shimmering red crystals

Still got it: The beauty, who rose to fame in the 1990s, proved she only got better with age as she flashed her winning smile at the cameras
