ԵՄ երկրները սկսել են ավելի արդյունավետ ամրապնդել ընդհանուր անվտանգությունը, Բրյուսելում հանդիպման ժամանակ նշել են ԵՄ երկրների պաշտպանության նախարարները։

 Ազգային ռազմական ծախսերը ավելացնելու մասին ՆԱՏՕ-ի առանձին անդամներին ուղղված ԱՄՆ կոչին ի պատասխան՝ ԵՄ արտաքին քաղաքականության ու անվտանգության հարցերով գերագույն ներկայացուցիչ Ֆեդերիկա Մոգերինին ասել է, որ ԵՄ-ն նախընտրում է միավորել իր ռեսուրսները, հայտնում է Euronews-ը ։

«Համատեղ ներդրումները արդյունավետ եվրոպական պաշտպանություն ապահովելու լավագույն միջոցն է, - ասել է Մոգերինին,- Անհրաժեշտ է ռացիոնալ ու արդյունավետ մոտեցում մեր ընդհանուր պաշտպանությանը։ ԵՄ անդամ երկրները պետք է հաղթահարեն այդ ոլորտում մասնատվածությունը ու օգտագործեն բոլոր այն գործիքները, որոնք ունի Միությունը»

ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Ենս Սթոլթենբերգը հանդիպման ժամանակ արձանագրել է ՆԱՏՕ-ի ու ԵՄ-ի համագործակցության առաջխաղացումը ու անոնսել ԱՄՆ նախագահի մասնակցությամբ գագաթնաժողովը։ «Մենք քայլ առ քայլ առաջ ենք գնում տարբեր ոլորտներում, որպեսզի ուժեղացնենք ՆԱՏՕ-ի ու ԵՄ-ի միջեւ  գործնական համագործակցությունը։ Այդ համագործակցությունը լինելու է այն կարեւոր թեմաներից մեկը, որը մենք մեկ շաբաթ հետո Բրյուսելում կքննարկենք ՆԱՏՕ-ի երկրների առաջնորդների հանդիպման ժամանակ»

Սթոլթենբերգը հիշեցրել է ագրեսիայի նոր տեսակներին՝ այդ թվում հիբրիդային, ասիմետրիկ ու էլեկտոնային տեսակներին հակազդելու հարցում պատրաստվածության անհրաժեշտության մասին։

Նա հայտնել է, որ վերջին կիբերհարձակումների ժամանակ ՆԱՏՕ-ն նախազգուշացումներ է ուղարկել իր անդամներին ու ԵՄ-ին, Միությանը տրամադրելով մուտք հաքերներին հակազդելու իր համակարգ, նաեւ ԵՄ երկրների հետ իրական ժամանակում տեղեկությունների փոխանակում է իրականացրել։
