Ֆրանսիայի ու ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահների առաջին հանդիպումը կայացել է մայիսի 25-ին Բրյուսելում՝ ՆԱՏՕ-ի ոչ պաշտոնական գագաթնաժողովի շրջանակում։ Էմանուել Մակրոնն ու Դոնալդ Թրամփը ճաշել են Բրյուսելում ԱՄՆ դեսպանատանը, հայտնում է AFP-ը։

Գործակալությունը նշում է, որ դեսպանատան առաջ Ֆրանսիայի նախագահին դիմավորում էին Դոնալդ Թրամփն ու նրա կինը՝ Մելանիան։ Բրիջիտ Մակրոնն այդ հանդիպմանը չի մասնակցել։ Աշխատանքային ճաշի ընթացքում քննարկված թեմաներն են եղել ՆԱՏՕ-ի գագաթնաժողովն ու «մեծ յոթյակի» գալիք գագաթնաժողովը Իտալիայում, նաեւ իրավիճակը Սիրիայում, Ուկրաինայում ու Հյուսիսային Կորեայում, տնտեսությունն ու կլիմայի մասին Փարիզյան համաձայնագիրը։

Դոնալդ Թրամփն ասել է, որ Մակրոնը «անհավանական քարոզարշավ է իրականացրել ու հրաշալի հաղթանակ տարել»։ Էմանուել Մակրոնն էլ իր հերթին ասել է, որ երջանիկ է ԱՄՆ նախագահի հետ հանդիպելու համար։

Նախօրեին Ելիսեյան պալատում հայտնել էին, որ հաշվի առնելով հանդիպման կարճատեւությունը՝ նախագահ Մակրոնը պատրաստվում էր «ուղիղ ու որոշակի» բանակցությունների։

AFP-ն նշում է, որ այցը Բրյուսել կարելի է դիտարկել որպես Մակրոնի առաջին քայլերը միջազգային դիվանագիտական ասպարեզում։ Այսօր Մակրոնը հանդիպել է Դոնալդ Թրամփի հետ ու մասնակցել ՆԱՏՕ-ի գագաթնաժողովին, իսկ վաղը ուղեւորվելու է «մեծ յոթյակի» գագաթնաժողովին Սիցիլիա, երկուշաբթի Վերսալի պալատում նրան սպասում է առաջին հանդիպումը Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի հետ, որը գործակալությունն անվանում է «կարեւորագույն դիվանագիտական փորձություն»։
