Հայաստանը նշում է Առաջին Հանրապետության օրը

Հայաստանն այսօր՝ մայիսի 28-ին, նշում է Առաջին Հանրապետության օրը:
1918թ. մայիսին հայկական կանոնավոր ուժերը եւ կամավորները կարողացան կյանքի ու մահու համար մղվող պայքարում փայլուն հաղթանակ տանել թվաքանակով անհամեմատ ավելի շատ թուրքական ուժերի նկատմամբ` թույլ չտալով նրանց ներխուժումը Երեւան:
Հաղթանակը հայ ժողովրդին թույլ տվեց վերականգնել դարեր առաջ կորցրած պետականությունը: Ուղիղ 96 տարի առաջ Թիֆլիսում Հայ ազգային խորհուրդը հռչակեց Հայաստանի անկախությունն ու Հայաստանի Առաջին Հանրապետության ստեղծումը: «Անդրկովկասի քաղաքական ամբողջականության անկումով եւ Վրաստանի ու Ադրբեջանի կողմից անկախության հռչակմամբ պայմանավորված` Հայկական ազգային խորհուրդն իրեն հայտարարում է հայկական գավառների գերագույն եւ միակ իշխանություն»,-հենց այդ ձեւակերպումն է տեղ գտել Հայաստանի Անկախության հռչակագրում:
Անգնահատելի է Հայաստանի Առաջին Հանրապետության դերը պետական կառավարման մարմինների ստեղծման գործում: Ցավոք, Հայաստանի անկախ Հանրապետությունը կարճ կյանք ունեցավ եւ Հայաստանը կորցրեց անկախությունը 1920 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 2-ին, երբ մեր երկիր ներխուժեց Խորհրդային Ռուսաստանի 11-րդ կարմիր բանակը, եւ Ռուսաստանը Հայաստանին պարտադրեց կապիտուլյացիոն պայմանագիր:
Ավանդաբար մայիսի 28-ին հիմնական միջոցառումներն անցկացվում են Սարդարապատում, որը հավերժացնում է հայ ժողովրդի հերոս զավակների հիշատակը, որոնք 1918թ-ին կանգնեցրին թուրքերի ներխուժումը երկիր: Այս տարի նաեւ կայանալու է «Ավրորա» մրցանակաբաշխությունը, որի ընթացքում պարգեւ է շնորհվում այն հերոսին, որն անձնվիրաբար օգնում է մարդկանց:
