ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը շնորհավորական ուղերձ է հղել Հանրապետության տոնի առթիվ: Ինչպես տեղեկացնում են ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, շնորհավորական ուղերձում Նախագահը, մասնավորապես, նշել է.
«Սիրելի՛ հայրենակիցներ,
Շնորհավորում եմ բոլորիս Հանրապետության տոնի կապակցությամբ:
1918 թվականի մայիսյան հաղթանակները նոր և փառավոր էջ բացեցին հայ ժողովրդի դարավոր պատմության մեջ: Սարդարապատի, Բաշ-Ապարանի, Ղարաքիլիսայի ճակատամարտերում մեր նախնիները նվաճեցին ապրելու իրավունքը:
Այդ կռիվները բնաջնջման եզրին հայտնված ժողովրդի վերջին և օրհասական ճիգերն էին, որ կոչված էին պաշտպանելու մեր պատմական հայրենիքի վերջին հողակտորները և փրկելու մեր ժողովրդի վերջին բեկորները: Այդ անհավանական թվացող սխրանքը գործեցին մեր ժողովրդի բոլոր խավերը, բոլոր շերտերը: Գործեցին բացառիկ միասնականությամբ և կազմակերպվածությամբ, անձնազոհ խիզախությամբ և աննահանջ կամքով: Գործեցին ազգային գիտակցության և պատմական պատասխանատվության բարձր մակարդակով:
Նորանկախ Հայաստանը ծնվեց Առաջին աշխարհամարտի համազարկերի տարափի տակ: Մենք ամեն տարի հավատարմության երդման նման կրկնում ենք մի պարզ ճշմարտություն. չլիներ 1918 թվականի մայիսի 28-ը, չէր լինելու Խորհրդային Հայաստանը, և չէր լինելու ներկայիս Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը:
Հայ ժողովրդի ողջ պատմության ընթացքում մենք, թերևս, չենք ունեցել պետականությունից զրկված լինելու ավելի մեծ ժամանակահատված, քան այն փուլը, որն անմիջականորեն նախորդել է մայիսի 28-ին: Եվ, անկասկած, չենք ունեցել ավելի ծանր և ողբերգական ճակատագիր նախորդ որևէ դարաշրջանում: Ահա թե ինչու 99 տարի առաջ պետականության վերականգնումը կրկնակի թանկ էր և նվիրական, և այսօր էլ սրբազան է յուրաքանչյուր հայի համար:
Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը իր քաղաքացիներին բերեց ոչ միայն անկախ պետականություն, այլև մարդու իրավունքներ և ազատություններ, որոնք արդեն ամրագրված էին օրենքներով:
Այսօրվա Հայաստանը նույնպես ծնվեց պատերազմի կրակի բովում, բայց այս անգամ՝ արցախյան ճակատում: Մենք՝ ներկա Հայաստանի քաղաքացիներս, հավատարիմ ենք Առաջին Հանրապետության պատգամներին:

Կրկին շնորհավորում եմ բոլորիս այս մեծագույն տոնի կապակցությամբ: Մաղթում եմ խաղաղություն և ստեղծագործ աշխատանք՝ հանուն մեր երկրի առաջընթացի և բարօրության:
