Կամիլ Պիսարոն Վան Գոգի մասին ասել է. «Այդ մարդը կա՛մ պետք է խենթանար, կա՛մ էլ գերազանցեր մեզ բոլորիս: Ես չէի էլ սպասում, որ երկու ենթադրություններն էլ կհաստատվեն»: Գեղանկարչության ոլորտում իր ստեղծագործական գործունեությունը սկսել է 1880թ., երբ արդեն 27 տարեկան էր: Կյանքի վերջին տասը տարիների ընթացքում Վան Գոգը դարձել է ավելի քան 2000 ստեղծագործությունների հեղինակ: Կյանքին հրաժեշտ տալուց առաջ երկու ամսվա ընթացքում նկարել է 90 նկար, սակայն կտավներից և ոչ մեկը չվաճառվեց իր կենդանության օրոք: Իսկ այժմ նրա ստեղծագործությունները պահպանվում են աշխարհի ամենանշանավոր թանգարաններում:

*Հուլիոս Կեսար. նրա հիվանդության մասին իր ողբերգության մեջ նկարագրում է Շեքսպիրը. «Այնժամ նա կորցրեց գիտակցությունն ու ընկավ: Նա ընկավ շուկայի հրապարակում: Նրա բերանից փրփուր էր դուրս գալիս: Նա չէր խոսում»: Կեսարի էպիլեպտիկ լինելու մասին են վկայում նաև հին հռոմեական աղբյուրները:
*Ֆյոդր Դոստոևսկի. նա ամենահայտնին է էպիլեպտիկների մեջ:

Հին Իռլանդիայում էպիլեպսիան անվանել են «Սբ Պողոսի հիվանդություն», քանի որ առաքյալը տառապել է էպիլեպսիայով:
Լեոնարդո դա Վինչի. ինժեներ, տեխնիկ, անատոմ: Ուսումնասիրության առարկա հանդիսացող ամեն մի բնագավառում նա կանոնավորապես խորացնում ու ընդլայնում էր իր գիտելիքները,ստուգում փորձով ու կապ ստեղծում մաթեմատիկաի հետ: Նրա գիտելիքները վիթխարի էին:

*Ալֆրեդ Նոբել. քիչ էր մնացել, որ նա կյանքի առաջին տարիներին իր մահացած քույրերի ու եղբայրների ճակատագրին արժանանար: Շատ հիվանդոտ էր, ֆիզիկապես թույլ: Եվ միայն մոր խնամքի շնորհիվ է կենդանի մնացել: Տարիներ անց այդ նոպաներն անցել են: Նա դրանք նկարագրել է որպես ցնցումներ ու հոգեվարք:

-Ճանաչված էպիլեպտիկների ցուցակը շատ մեծ է, ուստի կարելի է թվարկել նրանցից մի քանիսի անունը: Անգլիացի բանաստեղծ Լորդ Բայրոն, ֆրանսիացի գրող Գյուստավ Ֆլոբեր,Էլթոն Ջոն, Միքելանջելո, Նիկոլո Պագանինի, Լենին, Թոմաս Էդիսոն, Իսահակ Նյուտոն, Բլեզ Պասկալ, Պյութագորաս, կոմպոզիտորներ Հենդելը, Շումանը, Չայկովսկին, Բեռլիոզը, Բեթհովենը: Գրողներ ու փիլիսոփաներ Արիստոտելը, Դանթեն, Ագաթա Քրիստին, Լյուիս Քերոլը, Չարլզ Դիկկենսը, Սոկրատեսը:
