 Միջոկային երկու տերությունները՝ Ռուսաստանը եւ ԱՄՆ-ը, չեն կարող իրենց նման ցածր մակարդակի հարաբերություններ թույլ տալ, որքան այժմ Է: Այդ մասին հայտարարել Է ՌԴ-ում ԱՄՆ-ի դեսպան Ջոն Թեֆթը՝ ելույթ ունենալով «Երկխոսություն Ֆորտ-Ռոսս» համաժողովում:

«Աշխարհի երկու խոշորագույն միջուկային տերությունները չեն կարող իրենց նման հարաբերություններ թույլ տալ»,- նշել Է ամերիկյան դիվանագիտական ներկայացուցչության ղեկավարը, ընդունելով, որ հարաբերությունների բարելավման համար «շատ ուժեր ու ժամանակ կպահանջվեն»:

Ամերիկացի դիվանագետի խոսքով՝ Ռուսաստանը պետք Է նախաձեռնություն հանդես բերի Մինսկի համաձայնությունների կատարման գործում: Դիվանագետը հիշեցրել Է ԱՄՆ-ի պետքարտուղար Ռեքս Թիլերսոնի դիրքորոշումն առ այն, որ «քանի դեռ առաջընթաց չի լինի Մինսկի համաձայնությունների շրջանակներում, Ուկրաինայի իրադրությունը կխոչընդոտի Ռուսաստանի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի երկողղմ հարաբերությունների բարելավմանը»:

Մինչդեռ, ինչպես հայտարարել Է ՌԴ արտաքին գործերի փոխնախարար Սերգեյ Ռյաբկովը «Իզվեստիա» թերթում հրապարակված հարցազրույցում, Ռուսաստանը պատրաստ Է ԱՄՆ-ի հետ բանակցություններ սկսել Ուկրաինայի հարավ-արեւելքի իրադրության կարգավորման շուրջ, բայց նաեւ ակնկալում Է Կիեւի հետ Վաշինգտոնի երկխոսության ակտիվացում: «Մենք դեմ չենք Ուկրաինայի հարավ-արեւելքի իրադրության կարգավորման շուրջ ԱՄՆ-ի նոր վարչակազմի հետ ավելի ակտիվ երկխոսությանը: Ավելին՝ ռուսական կողմից վերջին ժամանակներս քանիցս ընդգծվում Էր՝ հենց որ Վաշինգտոնում նշանակեն այդ! ուղղության ղեկավարին, ավելի վաղ դրանով զբաղվում Էր պետքարտուղարի տեղակալ Վիկտորիա Նուլանդը, մենք պատրաստ կլինենք ձեռնամուխ լինել ծագող բոլոր խնդիրների հանգամանալի քննարկմանը»,- ասել Է Ռյաբկովը:

Նախօրյակին The Washington Post թերթը՝ վկայակոչելով «ամերիկացի պաշտոնատար անձանց եւ փորձագետների», հայտնել Է, որ Թրամփի վարչակազմը ցանկանում Է ՌԴ-ի հետ վերագործակել բանակցությունները Ուկրաինայի շուրջ: Թերթի տվյալներով՝ այդ նախաձեռնությունը տնօրինում Է ԱՄՆ-ի պետքարտուղար Ռեքս Թիլերսոնը, որն արդեն այդ հարցը քննարկել Է ՌԴ-ի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Սերգեյ Լավրովի հետ: Բացի դրանից, պնդում Է հրատարակությունը, ընթանում Է նոր ռազմավարության մշակման «միջգերատեսչական գործընթաց», որին մասնակցում Է նաեւ փոխնախագահ Մայքլ Փենսի աշխատակազմը! , հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ գործակալությունը:
