ՆԱՏՕ-ի խորհրդարանական վեհաժողովի գարնանային նստաշրջանի ընթացքում ադրբեջանցի պատվիրակները հարց են բարձրացրել հայկական կողմից «Իսկանդեր» համակարգերի ձեռքբերման հետ կապված: Մայիսի 31-ին լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանն այս մասին հայտնեց ՆԱՏՕ-ի խորհրդարանական վեհաժողովի հայաստանյան պատվիրակության ղեկավար Կորյուն Նահապետյանը: «Պետք է նշեմ, որ ադրբեջանական պատվիրակները բավականին անհանգստացած էին այդ հարցով: Դա նկատելի էր հարցադրման ընթացքում»,- նշեց Նահապետյանը:

Նա հավելեց, որ հայ պատվիրակները պարզաբանել են, թե ինչպիսին են Հայաստանի պաշտպանական քաղաքականությունը և անվտանգության ապահովման առաջնահերթությունները: «Մենք հստակ նշել ենք, որ այդ համակարգը ձեռք բերելը նպատակ ունի վերականգնել ուժերի հավասարակշռությունը Հարավային Կովկասում»,- ասաց Կորյուն Նահապետյանը:

Ադրբեջանցի պատվիրակը խոսել է նաև Հայաստանի կողմից Ռուսաստանից անվճար սպառազինություն ձեռք բերելու մասին: Հայ պատգամավորներն էլ հակառակ պնդումն են արել, որ Ադրբեջանը վերջին տարիներին միլիարդավոր դոլարներ է ծախսում հարձակողական նշանակության սպառազինություն ձեռք բերելու համար: «Մենք հստակ ընդգծել ենք, որ չենք ողջունում տարածաշրջանում սպառազինությունների մրցավազքը, բայց, մյուս կողմից, մեր բոլոր գործողությունները նպատակաուղղված են լինելու մեր պաշտպանական կարողությունների ամրապնդմանը և ռազմական հավասարակշռությունը տարածա! շրջանում ապահովելուն»,- մանրամասնել է հայ պատգամավորը:

Հայկական պատվիրակության անդամները նաև նշել են, որ Ադրբեջանը վերածվել է Եվրոպայում սպառազինություններ ներկրող ամենախոշոր երկրներից մեկի, ինչը լրջագույն մարտահրավեր է և սպառնալիք ոչ միայն տարածաշրջանի, այլ նաև միջազգային հանրության համար:
