Արաբական 4 պետություն՝ Բահրեյնը, Սաուդյան Արաբիան, Եգիպտոսն ու ԱՄԷ-ն, խզել են դիվանագիտական կապերը Քաթարի հետ: Ավելի ուշ նրանց միացել է նաև Եմենը:

Հարևան երկրի հետ հարաբերությունները խզելու մասին առաջինը հայտարարեց Բահրեյնի թագավորությունը: Մանաման նման քայլի է գնացել Դոհայի քաղաքականության պատճառով, որը «ձգտում է ապակայունացնել իրավիճակը Բահրեյնում և միջամտել վերջինիս գործերին՝ շարունակելով սադրանքներն ու սրացումը ԶԼՄ-ներում և աջակցելով ահաբեկչական գործունեությանը»:

Բահրեյնը 48 ժամ է տվել Քաթարի դիվանագետներին թագավորության տարածքը լքելու համար: Մանաման նաև կասեցրել է ավիա և ծովային հաղորդակցությունը Դոհայի հետ և արգելել է Քաթարի քաղաքացիներին այլցելել Բահրեյն: Բահրեյնի հայտարարությունից րոպեներ անց Քաթարի հետ դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների կասեցման մասին են հայտարարել Էր Ռիադը, Կահիրեն և Աբու Դաբին:

Քաթարն ակտիվ դիվանագիտական, քաղաքական և ռազմա–քաղաքական գործունեություն է ծավալել Մեծ Մերձավոր Արևելքում`քաթարյան գումարներով կռվող խմբեր կան Լիբիայում`Քադդաֆիին տապալելու հարցում այդ փոքրիկ պետությունն իր լոգիստիկ աջակցություն էր ցուցաբերում, Եգիպտոսում, որը նույնպես խզել է կապերը Դոհայի հետ, Քաթարն աջակցում էր «Մահմեդական եղբայրներրին» և այլն։ Ինչ վերաբերվում է Սաուդյան Արաբիային, ապա Էռ–Ռիյադի և Դոհայի մրցակցությունը Մերձավոր Արևելքում վաղուց էր հայտնի և Պարսից ծոցում ու Մերձավոր Արևելքում Քաթարը «զսպելու» տեսանկյունից դա սաուդացիների կարևոր ձեռքբերումն է`Քաթարին «մեկուսացնել», «պատժել», ինչ–ինչ զիջումներից հետո վերականգնել խզված հարաբերությունները։ 
Ինչ վերաբերվում է Իրանին, ապա Քաթարի մեկուսացումը բխում է Թեհրանի շահերից`Պարսից ծոցի միապետությունների միասնական, հակաիրանական ճակատը, այսպես կոչված «արաբական ՆԱՏՕ»–ն պառակտվել է, ինչը շանս է Իրանի համար`օգտվել արաբական միապետությունների հակասություններից ու պատակտումից։ Հենց այդ հանգամանքից ելնելով էլ իր անհանգստությունն է հայտնել քաթարյան ճգնաժամի կապակցությամբ ԱՄՆ–ը, որը ռազմական ներկայություն ունի Ծոցի բոլոր միապետություններում։

ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Ռեքս Թիլերսոնը կոչ է արել կողմերին նստել բանակցությունների սեղանի շուրջ և հարթել տարաձայնությունները։
ԱՄՆ–ը հասկանում է, որ Ծոցում պառակտումը, իր սատելիտների միջև սրվող պայքարը բխում է Իրանի շահերից ու ԱՄՆ–ի ռազմավարությունը «անակոնդայի» սկզբունքով «խեղդելու» Իրանին հարավից`Պարսից ծոցում չի ստացվելու, եթե այդ ռազմավարության, հակաիրանական կոալիցիայի տարրերը`Սաուդյան Արաբիա, Բահրեյն, Քաթար, սկսեն պայքարել ոչ թե Իրանի դեմ, այլ միմյանց դեմ։

Քաթարյան ճգնաժամը կունենա հետաքրքիր զարգացումներ`Իրանի, Թուրքիայի, Իսրայելի, ԱՄՆ–ի, ինչու ոչ նաև ՌԴ–ի արձագանքն ու հետագա քայլերը կարող են կամ էլ ավելի սրեն այդ հակասությունները, կամ ԱՄՆ–ին կհաջողվի հարթել հակաիրանական ճամբարի պառակտումը։
