Կերակրի սոդան օգնում է վերացնել թթվայնությունը բերանում, որը տհաճ հոտ է առաջացնում: Ջրի և կերկարի սոդայի լուծույթով լվալը բուժում է բերանի խոցերը: Լնդերի հիվանդությունը պայմանավորված է ատամների վրա և դրանց մեջտեղում փառի կուտակմամբ: Կերկարի սոդայով վերացրու այդ փառը բորբոքումը կանխելու և լնդերի առողջությունը պահպանելու համար:

Կերակրի սոդան չպետք է չարաշահել, քանի որ դա կարող է հանգեցնել ատամների էմալի մաշվելուն: Սոդան չի վերացնում բոլոր բակտերիաները, ուստի կարելի է հակամանրէային եթերային յուղեր կամ քացախ ավելացնել բակտերիաների դեմ:
